What would you think if you saw...

...a little boy wrapped up in a rainbow leopard print blanket and being pushed in a purple stroller?

A friend of my friend's had a baby but she ended up not giving her the baby blanket she made for her girl. She's hoping I have a girl but everyone is pretty sure I'm having a boy. Personally, I wouldn't give a crap. I love leopard print. :)

The stroller I want just so happens to come in either a beautiful dark purple with black accents or a really gross tan and blue circular print. Blegh. Plus the purple and black model comes with a speaker so baby and I can rock out on our walks. The gross one doesn't include the speaker.

Being self conscious and not wanting to get hassled for "trying to make my boy gay" or something equally ridiculous, I'd appreciate some opinions. :)

  • Who cares! Free is free when it comes to the blanket and if you like the purple stroller better, get it! It's your money and your baby!
  • All I would do was wait till the parents specified gender so I didn't make them mad
  • Lol my mom freaked when I saw a cute leopard print jacket and I said I'd totally put a little boy in that. She said, "That's a girl's jacket! You can't put a boy in that!" I just told her if I cut off the collar and sewed a skull patch on it it would look a little more butch for a boy.

Idk, I think its kind of sexist to assign colors and certain patterns to a gender.
  • I think you should say to hell with what everyone else thinks! Do it if you want to! Do you know for sure you're having a boy? Either way, they will ALWAYS get mistaken for the opposite gender, trust me! My little girl was in a yellow dress with flowers and everyone that came up said, what a sweet little boy you have, mind you she was in a pink car seat with a pink blanket. :) don't worry what anyone thinks hun, s/he is YOUR baby! :) good luck and congrats!

Too funny!!! I'm getting my ultrasound this Friday, but I'm waiting a week to find out with my family. We're going to give the envelope with results to a baker who will make a pink or blue cake covered with white frosting and at a party when we cut the cake, we'll all find out together :)
  • Doesn't matter what people think because iys your baby your raising this child not them. My sister in law loves the color purple and she had a boy. All his stuff is people no one confuses him for a girl or says anything. My brother supports her cuz he it's just a color and who his son is or will become is due to them oute who the baby already is. So go for it it's no one elses buisness but urs and ur husband.

  • My daughter has a navy blue stroller. It was a hand me down from on of my mil's friends. She has t shifts from the boys section too. When she was little people called her a boy even in purple poka dots lol. Don't think it matters at all
  • Who cares at that age?? Rock it mama

  • I LOVE rainbows. I've thought about having carebears in the babies room since then I could wrap clouds and raindbows into the room.

I don't plan to use a boys diaper bag even if I do have a boy. My mom got me a hot pink diaper bag with green dots all over. And there are picture pockets. I can't wait to fill it out.
  • I just read ur cake post. :) that's what one of the duggars kid did but they were on a talk show. It was pink. Their new baby they had someone make the sex symbol of the baby with the smoke from a plane.
  • Purple is gender neutral to me. And who cares what color your baby is wearing or what color the car seat is.
  • The stroller I want is greenish blue and I am getting it if I have a boy or girl.
  • They might think he's a girl, but you can have your little girl all dressed in pink with a bow on her head and people will still say "aw, what a cute little boy you have..." so it doesn't matter.
  • I would think the doctors told you the wrong gender.

I read about it somewhere online before I got pregnant and I just have to do it. Too cute!
