in need of prayers

edited February 2011 in First Trimester
I'm on the 5th pregnancy (I've had 3 miscarriages and gave birth to my first child last August) and just started my 8th week. I saw the heartbeat on Wednesday and it was at 140 bpm. I had my first appointment with my obgyn this morning and everything seemed ok. I didn't have an ultrasound but all seemed well. I got up to go to the bathroom before bed and my pantiliner was about half full of bright red blood (maybe a tablespoon or so). The bleeding seems to have stopped but I am still freaking out. I don't want to go to the er because its very expensive, and I know that nothing can be done about 1st trimester losses. I figure I'll wait until Monday and see if I can get an ultrasound done. I am on progesterone suppositories so my progesterone levels are probably ok. If this does end in miscarriage it will probably be my last pregnancy, I just can't go through another loss. I had some cramping earlier in the week but that was before I saw the heartbeat. I'm having some mild cramping now but nothing major. Please pray for my baby, I can't bear the loss of another baby.

  • Ull be in my prayers sweetie. I hope everything is okay with u and ur baby. God bless u.
  • Thank you both. I don't know if I'll be getting much sleep tonight. I'm praying that everything is ok.
  • We'll be praying for you!
  • i was pregnant a while ago and bled a little, apparently sometimes there can be blood trapped in the uterus from your last period or something and if you strained too hard on the toilet or laughed it could have pushed the blood out. I'm not a doctor and this might not be the case but you shouldnt stress too much. try to relax a little more and get plenty of rest in case something is wrong, but if you've gone a week with cramps and have only had some spotting there there isn't much to worry about. you also should remember that some women keep having their periods (or something like it) throughout their pregnancy and as a result never know. my thoughts go out to you and your baby.

let me know how you go!
  • I'm praying for you & your baby. Try to rest.
  • Thank you girls so much for your prayers, they have definitely been felt.I just checked and the bleeding has stopped for now. I'm praying that it doesn't come back. It just occured to me that I've been coughing a lot today (the hard painful kind of cough) and I wonder if that could have contributed to the bleeding. Please still pray for the health of the baby and no more bleeding. I'll update again in the morning. Sweet dreams and God bless!

  • I'll pray for you and your baby. Your Dr will definitely give you an ultrasound if you tell him/her your fear and what happened! Also, i would still go to the ER, they can't turn you away, and when they bill you, you can pay $10 a month and it won't go against your credit. I really hope everything is ok!
  • You're definitely in my prayers. I'm 6 weeks pregnant after two very recent miscarriages and I'm walking on eggshells. I know how you feel. My heart goes out to you. Hopefully it's nothing. Good luck and God bless.
  • Thank you for all of your prayers. I made it through the night w/out anu more bleeding. I'm going to take it easy over the weekend and still call my doctor on Monday. He ran routine bloodwork at my appointment yesterday so hopefully that will reveal the cause. Thanks again for the prayers and I will be sure to keep this updated.

  • Oh Tiffany, I hope you are both okay. I will be praying for both of you & please let me know if there's anything I can do. <3 *hugs*
  • Thanks girls, I appreciate the prayers. I'm having some cramping now but no bleeding. What a nightmare.
  • @tiff87124
I am with you..bleeding but no cramping in my case...just pressure...I am on progesterone too and was told that can cause bleeding as well...I went in on Friday and saw a heartbeat and am trying to stay positive myself...prayers coming your way...please keep me in yours as well.
  • Thanks for the prayers cutedame. My bleeding is happening off and on and although its not like a heavy period, the cramps that come with it are. I remember when I went into labor with my son I had severe cervical pain. I'm having the same pain this time. I'm trying to hold onto hope, but I don't know if there is any this time. Anyway, your in my prayers and I hope all goes well with your pregnancy. Please pray that I can get in for an ultrasound early next week. I refuse to go to the ER because I know that nothing can be done about a 1st trimester loss.
  • Hey Tiffany I'm praying now for you and this baby must b why I woke thinking someone needed prayer I got ur back u know my story having had miscarriage @16 weeks I know how that feels. I also had pain like that this week had first ultrasound baby fine :-) don't stress yourself I had lot of bleeding with my son it can be normal in first trimester too. Ad always love ya GOD BLESS
  • That happened.to me at 16wks... so ive been in bedrest...
Try putting yourself on complete bedrest to be on the safer side.. let the mess accummulate it will get done sooner or later. But baby comes first!!
  • Hi ladies, I just wanted to give you all an update as to what happened this weekend. I had lots of on and off bleeding and tons and tons of cramping but no clotting. My gut instinct is telling me that even though I haven't "offically miscarried" yet, that something still happened to the baby. My body has had trouble with incomplete miscarriages in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me if its happening again. My husband and I came to the difficult decision last night that no matter what happens, this will be our last pregnancy and that I'm getting my tubes tied after the miscarriage or the birth (whichever comes first). I've had enough heartache and sadness over the losses to last a lifetime. I've been lucky enough to have 1 miracle baby and that's enough for me. I'll update you as soon as I know what's going on with this pregnancy. Thank you for your prayers.

@betty, I would go on bedrest but it just not an option with a 5 month old. I have had family watching him over the weekend so that has helped.
