I never used one with my two kids.... i did get a playpen/bassinet thingy this time that has a changing table on it .... but other than that i would say its a waste of money...
I used mine with both kids, but its not a necessity. You can always put a blanket on the floor, your bed, the couch etc. U could also buy a dresser which I think is a necessity and put a changing pad on top of it.
My son is now 2 and I think I quit using it around 18 months, he was to tall, my daughter I probably used it longer cuz she is tiny. We got dressers with room for a changing pad so both kids still use their dressers.
Ive got one, im pretty sure ill use it. Mostly because its got a little drawer.and a shelf thing on the bottom. I need as much space to store baby stuff as possible
I got a changing table for my daughter. She's now 8 months and I can count on 1 hand how many times I've actually used it...but it does have 2 shelves underneath which are great for storage.
@ExcitedNewMom the pad can slide, but u can buy that stuff that u put underneath a rug to hemp it not slide, or some people use the sake type of thing of thing to line shelves and drawers, I have no idea what its called
I bought a changing table for my son & I ended up using a dresser because it was more comfortable for me to lean over that while changing him. A dresser is a better investment in my opinion. I won't buy another changing table.
I love my changing table. You dont have to bend over to change and dress the kids it makes my life easier. My daughter is almost 2 and i still use it!!
like some of the ladies said I bought the dresser and a changing pad mine has the sticky on the back so it doesn't slide off and it also has a strap you can screw into the back. I got it at baby's r us!!! my friends have the small changing tables with just the shelves and they all complain their children climb on it and they fall off or they are scared they will fall. anyways a kid will always need a dresser.
For me a changing table or changing pad on a dresser is a must have. It is easier to change diapers, easier on your back, and so much more sanitary than changing diapers on a couch or carpet, especially when your baby has a major diaper blow-out!
I bought a dresser with rails for the changing table on top. I used it every day until she was potty trained. For me, it was easier because diapers, wipes, cream, genie, ect was all together, plus her clothes were there if I needed a complete change. I think changing them all over the house is gross, lol! But I also lived in a one story house, so I might have thought differently if I had to climb stairs or something everytime she needed a change.
I don't think that u need one. Once my first child out grew it, it became a shoe shelf and still is. I have had another child since then and we didn't use it because if we put anything on it one child would be getting in to the items on the bottom. So not a necessity.
I just use the pad that goes along with the table, but don't actually have a table. I like it because I can sit on the floor to change his diaper, which for me is more comfortable, and then I slide it under his crib to store it. I keep supplies in a caddy, which I find to be priceless! It's small, portable, and holds everything I need!
I didn't use one with either of my children. I found that since I had diapers stored throughout the house I could change them in almost any room I was in I have a changing table/dresser with this one that was a gift..... well see if I use after july
I'm going to get a matching dresser/changer combo. That way if I don't use the changing table it wasn't a waste to buy since its also a changer. I know I hate getting up from the floor when I change my daycare kids. So I think I'll be using it.
