  • Buy all of your decorations from the dollar store!! You could have some family bring a few different foods, babyshower101.com has tons of game ideas, very inexpensive. We used our church to throw ours in as it has a nice area with a kitchen for the whole shower, and most churches are free or very inexpensive, as for invitations, we used an ultrasound picture and made our own invitations at the walmart photo center. 30 of them were around 10 dollars and they were super cute!! :)
  • This is why I love surprise babyshowers, u dont have to pay for them :)
  • I can't use my church since the baby is out of wedlock they don't condone/support stuff like that but I'll go look st that did thx @mommyoftwoprincesses

Potluck food, a friend's nice home, dollar tree balloons and decorations, evite or facebook invites instead of nice stationery. You could have a friend make the cake too (or you can make it)
  • You could find a church that won't look down on you having a child out of wedlock. All babies are special and many aren't born while the parents are married. I'm sure some clergymen/women know that! If you can't find a church to hold it in, maybe a convention center or a relative's house.
Buying dollar store decorations is a great idea. I love my dollar store! Getting food/refreshments at Costco would be economic too :)
  • I didn't decorate much just pink and green table cloths with pink and green plates and cups plain white forks and spoons...as for food I have lots of women in my family willing to help my four aunts and a couple cousins each brought a dish, we had a cake and juice...for food I had different dips and fruit with fruit dip...so I had hamburger dip, seven layer dip, spinach dip, a couple other kinds and strawberries n grapes with fruit dip...my mom bought the cake. And we didn't play games bc I think they are dumb...so on my invites we put if you brought a pack of diapers you would be entered in a raffle to win a door prize which was a $20 gift card to Target so I got lots of diapers
  • park or good frends house.. you can alway do an easy pasta dish with a salad.. yum you pre make the dish and heat in the oven.. like a small luncen.. and there are many free games and print outs online.. its traditional for a bff, mom, or other close family member to thro one for u.. it wouldnt hurt to ask someone .. or hint around that noones offered to throw one for u.. my mother inlaws threw my last one and shes throwing this one too.. good luck.. how far along r you?
  • i don kno your religion but im christian have been in common law marriage 10 years.. my pastor has councled us even.. and never pushed the issue .. i know some christian churches arent as judgmental as others
  • Can't do house and I live in the ghetto so no park but a potluck sounds nice and I have some ppl that can cook their butts off
  • @victoriab @lae3 I agree with you all about the church. If Christians are living in the love of Christ they should have compassion for you not institutional condemnation.
  • Also, make your own cupcakes instead of ordering a cake!! That's what we did and it was amazing! :)
  • thanks.. there has to be a church for everyone some times youve got to search and try them out.. youl know what feels right..
  • I'm pretty far so its like throwing together a last minute(27wks) and yeah I think they should let me do it but I know their answer cuz my cousin tried @lae3
My sister is excellent at making cupcakes we might be able to make a cupcake cake ;D @mommyoftwoprincesses
Thx all are great ideas keep em coming plz
  • youe rather do it yourself? then at least have reqruites you trust to help you with every thing so you can enjoy ur shower and not have to do all the work.. like u said sis can do cupcakes mabey cousin can do decorations .. food or games.. but you shoould deff get helpers..
  • U cam try community centers..some are really nice and inexpensive. I'm having my there and its really nice and $75 for 5 hours. Also make a budget and starting pricing things so u wont go over...Keep looking around for sales..u could never go wrong
