Ok, so I am so happy I actually get my medicine today. After having all of these pointless painful contractions I will be so happy to get my Procardia! Stupid Wal-Mart had to call and change it to some generic crap bc they wouldn't give me the good stuff, then when I called to see how much it would be they said oh wait we don't have any, so I have been waiting like 2 days for this mess. ugh I swear!

  • My dr gave me procardia for preterm labor and it was awful for me. I couldnt breathe, my blood pressure was way up, my feet were swelling and my legs, feet, arms and palms turned red and got hot and splotchy looking. My dr had to take me off of it. I had more symptoms, it was just terrible for me.
I hope you have better luck with it. The first time I had to take it I was fine. Maybe it was because I didnt have the generic the first time around. In youre experience did the generic make you feel awful?

  • I always have a problem at Wal-Mart pharmacy so unprofessional
  • @Mommyof4girls I just picked up my prescription, but the actual procardia helped tons, im sry it had such bad effects for you how far along were you?

@preggointx I do too! They always give me issues.

@gatorbob I didnt know that hmm... It just made me mad bc I was up all night with contractions... I shouldve been able to get my med. When it was called in, then changed, they shouldve made sure they had it, bc the point of calling it in is so it will be ready! When they told me they would have it ready today and I got there and yet again had to wait for them to fill it I was enraged

Uuugghh....I'm so over this ridiculous insurance crap. I wonder what their excuse would have been if you'd had the baby early >:p I'm glad u got ur meds.
  • I hate the Walmart pharmacies here. I won't go there anymore because if that kind of stuff..
  • @blissmarie23 thanks. It just... Ugh... Infuriates me. I am so tired of being in pain, filling a prescription is not rocket science. They do it every day.

@kate_k if it was not right by my house I wouldnt use them

@kcantu2. I have been really pisses off with our insurance this pregnancy too. We pay them over $600 out of pocket and they have had the nerve to not cover twice weekly tests my midwife has required saying its not prenatal care and has denied a prescription for Nexium even though I've been using other heartburn meds basically the whole pregnancy. They said i needed a lettet from my doc. Saying i needed the med. All i could think was they wrote the prescription for it. 1) i didnt steal their prescription pad and write it myself. 2) we pay you money every month for a service you arent prividing. I was telling my husband yesterday we would be paying less if we used the money we pay them and paid out of pocket instead. I wish now that I had applied for a medical card (since we qualify) and used that instead. Sorry for the rant. They've really pisses me off this pregnancy. SMH X(
  • @blissmarie I know! Its flippin crazyyy! Im sickkk of insurance ppl. Then they raise rates and dock coverage ugh!

I was 23 wks and I took it til I was 27 wks. Im glad to see it works for someone. It was awful and it made feel dopey. I rarely ever take meds so it scared the crap outta me. Plus, when I saw my body turn red and get hot, I was done. I wish you the best of luck!
  • @Mommyof4girls im sorry it didnt help thank you though ur too sweet
  • @gatorbob I know it was just who I was dealing with. It just upset me. Badly.

  • @gatorbob thanks. I probably wouldnt have been so mad if it wasnt a common occurance everytime I, or my daughter, need a prescription. Thanks though. I was tempted to complain.
