  • Anything is better than nothing. Really, I dont think you can stop them if they are meant to be. Im sure it depends more on your rate of weight gain and genetics and in your skin pigmintation. My mother in law had them but hers are so faint because she has peachy skin.
  • My doctor said genetics play a big part, but she said the absolute best way to avoid them is to stay hydrated inside and out. Drink lots and lots of water and use lotion as often as you can. She said stretching and exercising is also good. I've got some around my nipples but thats all. Good luck mamas!
  • Mederma! 40$ at walmart...dnt scratch..dnt scratch lol
  • Don't use mederma while pregnant or breastfeeding because it has chemicals in it that are not safe for pregnancy.

I'm using bio oil and pure vitamin e oil, I also take a small body butter with me everywhere for when I get dry. Drink lots of water and 100% juices with vitamin c to help repair skin. Skin repairs most at night so take prenatals and drink juice before bed. I've read taking vitamin e supplement is good too.

A friend of mine was pregnant with twins, she was a size 3/5 before and used bio oil somewhat throughout the pregnancy. She posted a picture on Facebook before going into labor yesterday and had no stretch marks whatsoever
  • I used bio oil and cocoa butter and got no stretch marks with my first, so same again this time!!!
  • I use "a mothers friend" from walmart, you have to order yet from the pharmacy in walmart and they are $6 dollars for a 6 ounce but works good. I have no stretch marks at all. Its made for pregnant ppl and for other things as well. Hope this works!
  • Thanks everyone for all your feedback!!!
  • I use Bio oil and for deep marks I have mederma
  • Yep bio oil so far
  • I use palmers stretch mark lotion in the morning and this belly butter stuff that I got from babies r us at night. The butter is thicker and leaves you alittle greasy but no stretch marks so far and I went from 105 to 135lbs all in the belly and boobs. But they say if your mom got them you'll most likly have them.
  • @yummymummy1 Bio oil seems like its the one!!
I'm going to see what one works best for me an take everyone's advice lol.
  • Where can you get bio oil?
  • I have been told stretch marks are hereditary. The only way to help prevent or lessen them is just constantly stay moist to increase elasticity. I was told by my ob there is no miracle cream. Consistency is key....put lotion or body butter or whatever you feel confident in using all day many times throughout the day
  • I got them with my daughter and I always used lotion and moisterizer. I'm doing the same with this one hoping I don't get any more because the ones I got are now fading. I use bath and body works country apple all day long! and it smells good =)
  • @mommey2b Yep bio oil is the one babes. See what works for you. @cantwait2bamommy you can get it from amazon and babies r us
  • Im totally buying bio oil next!! I have stretch marks frm son..i was using just coco butter lotion and put it on 2-3 times a day and wasn't itching ..and they didn't pop up till my last month.
this pregnancy im using vit E and vasiline and soon bio oil ..rather has less then more
  • I use cocoa butter tummy butter...I'm 36 and haven't gotten any (so far n hopefully won't)
  • I use coco butter baby oil gel...I put it on as soon as I get out of the shower n it lasts all day...but my sis used Nothing n wen she had her baby she ddnt have one and she always scratched n she gained 70pnds
....lucky bi**h lol...but my mom had 6 kids n she doesn't have n e either so I'm hoping I dnt get them on my stomach
  • I just ordered Carol's Daughter Sexy Belly...A lot of my friends used it and they swear by it
  • @Jerseymommy you may have just confirmed the heredity theory I was speaking of above.
