why are ppl trying to discourage me?

Why are ppl dead set on telling me i not gonna go through with natural birth and i should do a epidural its pissing me off like i understand that its gonna hurt but i dont want to get a epidural bc i dont like the idea of it and it slows down the process

    Tell them to shove it up their butts!! You can do it hun!! Of course it will hurt, its childbirth! Just think of all those people saying you can't do it during your labor, it will give you incentive to do it :)

    I'm having the exact same issue! Friends, family, and the doctors. I've done lots of research and I want a natural birth! EVERYBODY is so negative and doesn't understand why I want a natural birth and they all say just get the epidural. My mom even told me I'm too much of a whimp to do it without???WTF??

    Yeah, I get that too. I've got an issue with being injected with things or having blood taken from me. It causes me a lot of stress to even think about it. No drugs for me! My body is meant to give birth so I'm going to do it the way nature intended and screw everyone's negativity about it!

    I want to go all natural, do you have to have birthing classes to help you do so? I dont know if my town has any :/ do they just teach you how to breathe? Sorry, i'm 15 weekd and already thinking about giving birth lol @uncaffeinated_katie

    Don't let those people discourage you!! Just cause they couldn't do don't mean you can't!! If you wanna go natural go do it!!! Then be sure to brag to them that you did!!

    Don't let anyone change your mind but you! My sister wanted to do it natural but the nurse bugged her soo much about getting an epidural she finally just told them to give it to her to shut the lady up!

    I tryed the first time but did the epidural. I was 19 & it hit me quick. Water broke at 3:00am sat. She was out 7:35am sat. But ima try for no meds again. You always have the option to use meds if u wish. If not don't use them! But don't feel like you failed cuz you had to use them either. I kinda did. But oh well baby was healthy. & that's wat counts!

    I am having the same exact issue. I am doing a water birth and only using the hypnobirthing method.. everyone is telling me not to do it especially because my baby is already measuring big. Women have been giving birth for millions of years, my body is made to do this. I just wish people would stfu and mind their own business

    Our bodies are made for childbirth. Dont let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Just go into it being prepared for all scenarios. Learn all the different comfort methods, take classes if u can. Read books if you can't. There are so many amazing benefits to going natural. Also, I highly suggest you rent and watch "The Business of Being Born". It is a great documentary and wil make you feel more confident about your decision to have a natural birth. Also, you can consider hiring a doula to help you and your partner during the process. I am a first time mom, 23weeks, and planning/striving for a natural hospital based birth. We are taking bradley classes and i'm confident my husband and I can do this together. Also, make sure you have a birth plan (google online for examples). And review your intentions with your doctor or midwife. Best of luck to you.

    Im going natural also and people keep saying im not going to go through with it. even people who does not have kids lol its my decision I wanna feel everything I can take pain maybe it will make me think twice on having another kid any time soon. Its your body nobody else is having your but you

    I had an epidural with my son, knew I was going to and got it at 3cm. I thought why go through pain if I don't have to? But I just watched a documentary called "pregnancy in america" (its streaming on netflix) and there was great info about hormones being balanced and it being more condusive to bonding....there are so many more reasons to go natural than I realized! I am def going to go natural this time.

    With my baby girl i had everyone telling me i was crazy, that i wasnt going to handle it! I think they just say that bc they couldnt take it, ( they went into labor couple of months before me ). My SIL'S tried to convince me to get the drugs while i was in the hospital! Only my mom and my sister helped me on my desicion on going natural. I proved everyone wrong and i love bragging about it with them when someone brings the subject, i can tell how much they hate it! It wasnt as bad for me, like everyone says, but everyone is different! I wish you the best and take all those negative comments to give you more courage and strength and proove them wrong! I was 19 and did it with a baby girl, now i will be 22 and will b er having a baby boy in september 23, and will proove them wrong again! I just watched alot of ''a baby story'' in tlc and went we ith a open mind, dont panic! Mine was quick and easy! Felt the real pain at 8 1/2 cm dialeted! So dont freak, out with the first pain!     Just ignore them and go with what u want...I prolly didn't need it but I got it, everyone's different..good luck! :)
