would any expectant moms attend a baby funeral?

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
My fiance's cousin went full-term and somehow found out the baby had no heartbeat and she had to deliver the baby anyway. Today she is having a wake at the funeral home for the baby. Would anyone attend while being preggers? I am 18 weeks and I just couldn't go! :( I feel so bad. Any advice?

  • When I was about 15 weeks a friend from highschool accidently ran over his daughter who was 1 in a half. I went to visitation but I just couldn't actually go to the funeral.
  • I just don't wanna get freaked out then start worrying too much
  • That's hard. I think for her sake you should go and show your support. It may be awkward between the two of you and your baby later. Just my opinion.
  • We are not that close and I think she understands me not going.
  • I think she will understand I lost my soon at 33 weeks and had to deliver him I couldn't and didn't want to be around anyone pregnant it was to hard I was happy for those that were pregnant but mad it hard to look at them cause it made me miss my son even more
  • @adaliesmommy ran over his daughter!?!?
  • Thanks debs.
  • I probably wouldn't go. But I would sen a some flowers for her. It just might be too much for you and her at the funeral.
  • I agree I would send a card something it meant a lot to me when I saw how many ppl carried and showed love for my son.
