edited May 2011 in Pregnant
how long do you think a baby can sleep in a Moses basket?I have to stay in a hotel till I have my baby and our house is ready. So my babies bed is going to be a Moses basket. Is anyone else going to be using a Moses basket?

  • I loved my moses basket. I used it a lot with my 1st. I used it mostly for naps, but it was also great when we traveled to see family. I would throw all the stuff he needed in it for the drive to save room, unpack it when we arrived and when he got sleepy nap/or night I would put him in the basket. We also took some really cute pictures of him in it. Now that he's two we use it to hold toys in his bedroom. I will be buying a new moses basket for this baby as well.

yeah I was going to get a pack n play for his bed . But this room is pretty crowded with my three big boys and boyfriend! I just hope we can move into our house as soon as the baby's born. The place were moving is 50 miles away my bd got a good job there . But for now I have to stay close to the hospital because I'm high risk and I have to go to 4 appointments per week and.....I have no car.

  • @angieface I thought I had it bad with 2 appts a week. I think I would lose my mind if they made it 4!! I hope you have a healthy baby soon! Btw I love the idea of a moses basket!
  • My son slept in his until he was 8 eeek old and then went in his cot. He had definitely out grown it by 8 weeks.

  • I think it depends on weight too but my son was in his for at least 3 months from what I remember. And I will be having a Moses basket for this one too :)

Its not really the same as a bassinet its just a basket (about the size of the top part of a bassinet)with handles and sometimes a hood.My grandma told me they used to use them back in the old days as a babycarrier and bed.
  • in th Uk most new mums use them, we dont normally use them as a babycarrier but just as a place to sleep while baby is still small
  • yeah I don't think your supposed to use them as baby carriers anymore (not safe )..lol my grandma said it was back in the 50s..@due9nov
BTW my 11yr olds birthday is Nov 9th :)
