Does it hurt?

When the dr checks to see if you're dilated?

  • No, not really....not when the dr checked me....but when I was in the hospital having my daughter one nuse checked me every so often, and it hurt so bad, like she was putting her whole arm up in me....and every time she did, I was like omg! She kept telling me that sje doesn't know how some girls get pregnant if we can't handle her hand in there.....then again when the dr did it, it didn't hurt.
  • Do they need to check that if you're having a c-section?
  • Sometimes the l&d nurses can be a lil rough
  • I'm just curious cause I'll be checked at my next dr appt
  • It hurts when your not dilated....I recently whent to L&D and when they checked me...oh my!!!!
  • Its very uncomfortable for me but it's over fast. takes less than a minute.
  • Getn checkd hurt ta me an wen tha dr broke my water omg that wuz painful as Hell
  • Every time I've been checked it's hurt a bit, not horrible pain, but it's very uncomfortable. I also have spotting for a day or two after every time I'm checked which the doctor says is normal. Hopefully it goes smoothly for you. :-)
  • It never hurt me to be checked. When they broke my water it didn't hurt. The only thing that was a little painful was when my doc scraped my cervix. I never thought about that @blueberrysmom good question.
  • For me I wouldn't say it hurts bad but it hurts a little and its uncomfortable buut it doesn't take long. Now if you think you might be leaking fluid and they hve to do the swan test that hurt me bad! But my sis n law is due 4days after me and it doesn't hurt her when they examine her so I guess everyone is differnt! Gl with the rest of you pregnancy!
  • It did for me a little due to my cervix being pretty far back and kinda hidden (how the nurse described it) so it made it more difficult and painful.
