So im new to dis army wives thing!!! While im pregnant with my second child, im 24wks, due dates is aug 21, and im stressed to the max. I have never been away from mi husband/ bestfriend this long before and im pregnant. It hurts alot that he can't be at any doctors appointments! Our 3yr old ask about his daddy all the time. All I can say is he'll be home soon. :(

  • Hi, I'm a Marine wife and we have a 4yr old and I'm almost 15 wks...he has been gone on two 7month deployments and has been away training for a couple of months, all in the past 3yrs! It's very hard, especially if you're far from family. You have to make friends, they will help you. And keep busy! Take advantage of all the things offered on base. If possible. Have him record himself read books and tell stories, so that you can play it for your Kiddos.... right now we are able to Skype, which makes it a little bit easier.
  • but still hard ... when ny son asks everyday when is daddy coming home?
  • I'm a marine wife, I have a 3 yr and 14 weeks with baby #2. My son cries for his daddy a lot at night or when he gets mad at me. It's hard to see that, but I have to remind him that daddy is working and will be home soon. I downloaded a picture of where my hubby is...and show it to him regularly. That seems to help.
  • My heart hurts for you ladies. I live in the same state as my fiance and we barely see each other. We don't live in the same borough but what's worse is next week I'm moving to Atlanta (without him) he's coming later but I have to find a job and get a place before he comes. i'm going to be staying with my sister while i'm there and he's not comfortable with him coming to her house he'd rather me go first since i have family there. it's going to be hard so i say we just stay strong for the kids xoxo to all you ladies.
  • Im glad that it ain't just me going thru it or been tho. Cause its hard.. nd yea my son ask everyday for his dad but I can't let him see it get to me. As mommy posta do I just put on a smile and said daddy will be home soon. But inside it hurts like crazy.!
  • @oregonMama I am so sorry to here that and I wish you the best of luck with this pregnancy.
  • Also u can get a "daddy doll" (like a stuffed solider with a place for daddies picture in the face) free or really cheap online. We did that when my husband was deployed and they have baby blankets for daddy to sleep w to get his smell on them bag it up (to keep his smell on it) and let baby "snuggle" w daddy when he's gone.
  • That is a gud idea...thanks cetheridge
  • Also its ok to cry! Both u and kids let them know its ok to miss daddy but explain to them (age appropriate) what daddy does and why he does it. Make daily chain link w what yall did that day so when daddy gets home ur son can have daddy read them to him and ur son can tell his dad about it so they wont feel like daddy missed such a big part of each others lives.
  • Ima have to do that... :-)
