ultrasound & baby weight question...
Okay, so I went in for an ultrasound to measure my cervix & I told her I wanted to find out what my baby weighs (about), she told me that all babies at this point weigh about the same, that they don't start gaining more, or less weight yet. I was 29wks 4days. And she said my baby should weigh between 2.5-3 pounds. Well after she did all the measurements she checked to see what it said his weight was & it said almost 4 pounds & she said 'hmmm... well he's weighing a bit 'big'...'. After she just told me they all weigh about the same, that's a whole pound difference. So my question is, does it just mean she was wrong & at this age they in fact CAN gain weight faster, OR that maybe im a little further along & might have my baby a little sooner? Anybody know? Or has anyone had the same type of thing & their doc tell you different?

I had an ultra sound 2 wks ago....my dr said baby should weight 7?5-10 oz and she was already 1 lb!! But I wont suspect anything until my last u.s.
@angelsmommy I know its just an estimate, but to be a whole pound off seems crazy when they are only a few pounds as it is. Ounces off I could understand. I hope he's not just going to be a big baby, even though I have a feeling that might be the case. I've heard horror birthing stories about big babies lol. Id be fine with a little 7 pounder:) or maybe he'll slow down his weight gain... fingers crossed!
@angelsmommy if you don't have another ultrasound how do they know what baby weighs toward the very end??
@denois that is big! That's as big as I want my baby to be at birth! Lol... you poor thing. Id be scared... can you tell its. My first & the whole birthing process kind of frightens me?! Lol
