When they say your baby is the size of fruit, what exactly does it mean??

ok quick question, right now my baby is the size of a mango...is that a mango with arms and legs??? or a mango all to gether...because i know some apps measure your baby from crown to rump its a little confusing,

    That's a good question! I would guess without, I moved into the vegetables last week, and I think they might have legs??....

    I think they jus wanna give u a better idea of how big the baby is but ur right it is a lil bit confusing cuz wat happens if u never see the fruit they r talking about like a kumquat I dnt even no wat that is LOL

    oh yeah a cumquat is like the size of one of those minni limes.. i forget the real name for the tiny limes are called .. they are round.. but a cumquat is more pear shaped and they are orange.. and tasty.. the trees are all over here in northern cali

    @Lea3 o see I never been to cali live in the chi n I'm like positive they dnt sell kumquats LOL so lost on these illustrations they give us n @Septmama have u had an u.s yet? If not I got mine during my 19th week n that baby looked huge like 30w wit no body fat LOL it was great

    @pooh22 yes ive had an ultrasound a few weeks ago...it looked really good, i was able to see all her expressions, i know when you are farther along the baby looks really squished

    @pooh22 the us tech some come back around 30 to 32 then they can really get a good luck at the facial features and u may even see eyebrows..lol

    I think its stupid. An orange or oinion is round. My babys not round!! So idk where they got the fruit thing from but I find it annoying & it doesn't make sense to me. How bout your babys as long as a unsharpened pencil or its as tall as a water bottle. & inform us if its with or without legs!! I think it'd be easier for us to get an idea of the growth of baby. Onions & oranges& mangos come in different sizes. Doesn't make sense to me!

    Lol yeah it is pretty confusing. I don't even know what fruit my baby suppose to be right now I stopped keeping track. Lol. Bit I'm 25weeks. And I haven't seen him since I was like 15weeks I think, and don't get to see him until the 17th.

    We still call our baby Blueberry even though he's about the size of a lime now!

    They measure had to rump until you are in your last trimester then they start to add the rest of the baby. They do that to give you an idea of about how big the baby. Once you get to your last trimester you will see a huge jump and that is why. They add thoes legs which makes a big difference. Also the last trimester is when your baby is more in proportion Their body catches up with their big head. LOL
