Back to work! Freaking out a bit

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
So, after 2 months off for morning sickness, hemorrhages and home iv/ zofran pump, I am finally on green light to return to work. I was super excited until just now remembered that means leaving my house nlt 4:40am getting to work about 6am, working all day (duh) and then leaving about 3:15 and not getting home until 4:45-5pm. That is a long @$$ day. I also just realized I'm probably not going to want to stay at this job bc there is no way in hello I'm going to spend 12+ hours a day away from my baby and leave her with my spaz mil everyday. I think we'd be fine on hubby's paycheck alone, I just find myself stressing out about a lot of things right now. Like being at work 12 hours a day (cause that commute is work to me) and we have so much work to do on the house before baby gets here, I don't know how we are going to get it done. I know I'm going to be insanely tired and hubby has very similar hours. We have 5 months left, it seems like a long time, but I just can't see it getting done in time. I guess I needed to vent, any words of encouragement or advice would be greatly appreciated. Advice for Mothers on Mother's Day. Thanks.

  • Just reading that schedule of yours, makes me want a nap! ;) brutal!!
Just do it one day at a time. It's all you can do, honestly without driving yourself batty. I still need to remodel basement for my teenager so this baby boy can have a nursery. I'm not stressing, he can room with me for a few months. I'm gonna work on home projects this fall.
  • If you can, stop working around 30 weeks or so to give you time to get things ready and enjoy your days before baby is here. :) Don't push yourself too much. :) I left my job I loved and was at for 6 years when I was only 10 weeks!! Your happiness is way too important. :) If you can afford to leave don't feel guilty or like a failure you didn't work untill baby comes. :)
  • @jaime77 thank-you, you are right, one day at a time. Yeah everytime I think of the schedule I want to take a nap too!!! Lol. ugh, remodeling is stressful. We got everything put of restrooms and our room and our garage is packed now so we could do carpets and paint. A lot of boxes from back when we moved in. Donated clothes and a lot if stuff to Veterans this past week and it still seems like so far to go! good luck with your projects and thanks for the bit of sanity :)
  • @mrsforsee that is great you got to do that! My hubby said it is ok for me to do that, and it is probably the smart thing, but I am part of a big project that was kind of my baby before I could have one. Major things coming up that I need to prepare people for when I do leave and everything to go live so to speak next year. You have a good idea, 30 weeks might be too soon, but taking off early would help this. I just wish... Lol like every mother who has had morning sickness, I could have traded that time for productive clean time!!! Thanks, happiness and this baby are the most important things! :)
