I've been relaxing my hair since I was 6 years old, I can't imgine what it would look like if I stopped now. I'm 11 weeks pg. Anyone relax thei hair while pregnant?
I have with this is number four pregnancies never a concern for doc, all healthy babies..only prob was grandma said it wasnt right,..thier from the south so almost everything is forbidden,...lol gotta love her tho
I'm a white girl but I watched "Good Hair" and I would suggest not useing it, I know its gotta be hard after so long but I personally would rather have a healthy baby (again I don't know what its like but its just my opinion). Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
I think I'm gonna continue to relax, just wait a little longer in between. Id like to hear more experiences good or bad tho! The more info the better........
This is my first baby & I didn't relax my hair for two whole trimesters (cause grandma said it was bad luck). I regretted that! My roots were hit! I finally gave In & got a relaxed. My baby is just fine in there
In my family we were taught no relaxers during pregnancy. 3rd baby n im still following the rules. I was thinking about going natural anyway so ill see what happens after I have this baby.
My doc says to wait for the 2nd trimester. If it is desperate, which it was for me, I would suggest u purchase a face mask, to avoid inhaling fumes. I bought the kind that painters wear.
I'm 28 weeks today and my auntie and grandma said no relaxers at all so I'm doing good so far the only thing is my hair is so curly and wavy its no joke as soon as I. Have him I'm getting a relaxer if ur wondering my race blk white and indian...
Well gurl I say do it I did it with my first daughter she was fiine I cannot have my hospital pic looking like celie lol my daughters mixed and I am full blooded african american I'm. Not as luck as her to have the texture deff got the length tho but goahead it won't hurt trust me I'm on my second preganacy
Lol gurl go aheah wit it my fiance is laughing he thinks it sfunny he in the army so what the hell does he know ain't noting wrong with perms or getting your nails done y should us pregnant women look tore up
@kiahsmom1 my husband is in the navy...and I told him ill eat all the nasty health food, swallow all those big horse vitamins, and everything else but I REFUSE to look like I "will work for change".
But I do take precautions and wear the painters mask and asked my doc before hand. I hit the nail salon early so there is little to no fumes.
I'm lmao about the celie comment. But I totally agree. I gotta perm while I was preggo with my first and evn my doc said it was fine(maybe cuz she was a blk woman who understood) an I plan on keeping my hair relaxed during this pregnancy...jus maybe goin a lil longer in btween times tho
I've had two relaxers so far and i'm 32 wks....I have yet to run into a doc, nurse or midwife who says relaxers are bad during pregnancy....as long as you don't spend hours sniffing the fumes you'll be fine Idk about you but this pregnancy just made my hair very mad, had to stop the "natural-route" or end up bald lol
Same here. My hair was a mess, so I had to perm it. Especially for school. Can't be going to the board lookin like nobody love me! Lol. I've had two done, I'm 21 wks and my baby is fine. My dr didn't say I couldn't n trust wen I say I asked her everything unda the sun. She just finally got fed up and printed me out a list of dos n donts. Perms are fine girl.
