Amniotic Band
So I have to see a specialist because I have an amniotic band. I guess I have a band on my placenta and it increases the chance of the baby having a cleft lip or palette, or a deformity of the hand, feet, or limbs.
I have my appointment next Monday in the morning. Think happy thoughts for me, please. Cause I'm having problems doing it myself.

Good news is I get another ultrasound, right? And some Ben & Jerry's Snickerdoodle ice cream was just what the midwife ordered to help pick me up.
DO NOT Google it. I made the mistake of doing so and for months I cried daily, thinking my baby was going to be severely deformed, not going to make it, and all sorts of other things.
I'll make sure to lift you up in prayer and keep you in my thoughts. Keep us up to date with what you find out. I'm sorry you're having to worry, it's so hard not to. I feel your pain.
I can handle the cleft lip or pallet, or webbed digits. A little plastic surgery and he will be fine. It's just the scarier stuff I read about that I need proof are extreme examples and not likely to be my case.
Everything has a way of working out. Ill pray for peace til monday and an answer at your ultrasound. Something to ease your mind and take away the what ifs and fears. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted.
Turns out a little misdiagnosis by my first ultrasound tech just earned me a second ultrasound with a clearer look at my baby! There is nothing tangled around my baby, if there had been, it would have been very obvious at that first ultrasound. The tech at the specialist place said it is likely just a piece of tissue, forgot what she called it, and that it is very common and normal.
My baby boy flashed his janks again, too. What an exhibitionist! And he was kicking and punching the whole time. So awesome. We got even better pictures and you can so clearly see his nose, mouth, and chin in the profile!
