I had the scariest night, the little one kept stopping breathing and he would gag anyone else with babies that were born with breathing and feeding difficulties? Does it take long to get easier?
My daughter was born 6 weeks early and had the same problem...it does get better I promise... two things worked for her, one of which people tell you not do because of SIDS so take it or leave it...the first thing that worked was bringing her into a steamy bathroom, it helped her take deep breathes, I would always bring her in there when she was asleep, sometimes I even nursed her in there...another thing we did was get one of those wedge pillows and placed it under her head....no sheet or anything over it (that's the SIDS one they say no pillows) that helped too but I only did that when I was going to be staying awake..... it does get easier but if it keeps up and you don't feel comfortable about it keep bringing him in until you get an answer your happy with
Most newborns have apnea (stop breathing) episodes. Its scary, but normal. My 7-week-old woke up choking so much at first that I decided to have her sleep in her carseat until we get the green light from her pediatrician to put her belly-to-sleep. (With my son, itwas about 6 months he slept in the carseat or swing)
Get the fisher price sleep and play for $60. It keeps the babies at the perfect incline and you can rest peacefully knowing they are safe. If that doesnt help then the more expensive route is the angel monitor. It goes off when baby stops breathing. I hope that helps Ill be praying for you and your little one.
@Kcantu2 The Fisher price thing is a bassinet that has a perfect incline to reduce reflux. The angel monitor goes under the crib mattress if you put the baby in the crib. It's so sensitive it catches the babies breathing patterns and if the baby stops breathing it will go off to alert you. I have both. They are amazing!!!
