a second baby shower?

Is it ok to have a second baby shower? My kids r 7 and 9 and I'm no longer w their dad. My boyfriend and I r having a baby and I'm starting from scratch and have absolutely nothing. His mom said he's throwing a shower but on my side should my fam be invited seeing they gave gifts the first time around 10 years ago? I don't know, I don't wanna step on toes and we aren't going over board bc I truely know what's fufu and what will actually be needed and realistically be used. Whatcha think?

    I wouldnt think of it negatively if i got a shower invite for someone who already had children, especially since your last was 7 years ago...lots of new and improved stuff since then :)

    @bloozie I personally think it's fine to have a second shower. Ten years is a long time seeing as how baby items these days are outdated in 6-12 months. If someone is truly offended at the thought of purchasing another gift, you could always tell them that that is fine and that they are still welcome at the shower. After all, it's not all about gifts. You get to sit around with friends and family, talk about the baby and the future, play games, and there is food...and cake! :)

    are you kidding girl.. i think every baby should get there own baby shower.. and why not .. your celebrating each one.. i had a baby 12months ago and am now almost 17wks pregnant and im going to get one thrown for this one.. and i dont feel bad at all about it and neither should you.. ;-)
