My best friend/ mother of my god son had to. its nothing bad. but most of the time the shots are neccessary to make sure your immune system doesn't try to fight off the baby. they are just gonna give them to you as a percaution.
it's a precautionary shot, not necessarily "to keep the baby" but in case blood types were to mix so that your body doesn't fight off baby. I get one@28 wks & after birth
I'm Rh negative & I get my Rhogam shot on Monday. This is my 3rd pregnancy so I'm used to it now. You'll get a shot after you deliver too. The only way you won't need the shot is if the father is negative as well. If you don't get the shot then there's a chance your body will actually fight to cleanse itself of the baby because your body treats it like an infection & fights against it.
Probaly a Rhogam shot??!! I have to get those cause my blood type is RH negative o which is a very rare blood type and most the times my babies are born with the fathers ab positive blood type
I am o-. I got a shot of that in Feb during my 1st miscarriage. I am now preg again for the 2nd time and 1st doc apointment is the 23rd of may. I will have to ask her about it. I knew I would need the shot but I don't know when I will need them.
I have a- blood and have had to have 2 shots during my pregnancy. Once ive given birth theyll test for babys blood type n decide if i need another one. isnt too bad but can make your arm go numb n it stings a bit as they inject it. My BD got confused bless him cos here they call it an Anti D shot n he thought the midwife was saying i needed Anti depressants. Its not so much of a worry with a first pregnancy is more for if you coinceive again and the antibodies are already there they might try and fight the baby which wouldnt be a good thing so the shot stops you creating anti bodies against your babys blood type.
