Am I the only one?

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
I know its probably not the case but I feel like I'm the only person on here who doesn't know the sex of my baby. I wouldn't mind if it was of my own choice but I really wanted to know but ny local hospital won't tell you. I'm so happy for everyone but I can't help but get a little upset when I read about your baby boys and girls. I'm 39 weeks so ill find out soon anyway and I feel so stupid for getting upset over it but I just can't help it.

  • That is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard a hospital say! Im sorry I pray you waitvis over soon and you get what you want!
  • That's crazy! Why wont they tell you/ how are you supposed to buy stuff for the baby?
  • Why wont they tell you? Maybe they wrote it down on ur chart.. Try to get a peep at it
  • I had a guy yell at me for finding out. It was an old man, and he asked me what I was having. He said "Why did you want to know? If God wanted you to know, he'd have put a window on your belly!" It made me feel like shit. But then I thought about it, and came to the conclusion that if God didn't want me to know, he wouldn't have made man so smart to create the technology to figure it out! hahaha. So why wont they let you find out? Oh ya, and one last thing. My ultrasound tech forgot to ask if I wanted to know, and just told me. I did want to know, but I'd have been pissed if she told me and I didnt!
  • It's hospital policy not to tell because I live in an area with a large mix of cultures. Some of which would stereotypically abort girls. I think its incredibly racist and unfair. And buying neutral baby stuff is such a pain in the butt. I can't wait to go buy some lil dresses or jeans or something lol.
  • @Karla_with_a_K in the UK you keep hold of all your pregnancy notes and take them to every appointment so no luck with the chart sadly.
