is 12 weeks too early?

So I'll be 12 weeks on Friday and I'm going for my NT scan... I've heard of people finding out what they are having at this scan...but I don't want to get hopeful...when did everyone find out what they were having?

    Its usually way too early! You can find out a 16 weeks, most doctors do it at 20 though

    My NT scan was at 13.5 weeks but the baby was not cooperative so we couldn't see the goods. At 12 weeks it MIGHT be possible but very hard to tell. Even then, they won't say they are sure just an educated guess. Its all about the angle. At this point in your pregnancy boys and girls have similar looking genitals in that they all stick out. The way they can tell is the angle it sticks out.

    We found out at 15 weeks with our first, about 13.5 weeks with our second at 16 weeks with this one.

    I wouldn't get your hopes up, and be happy and surprised if they can give you a clue. Good luck!
