so my doctor messed up(kinda long)

About 3 weeks ago at my appt she gave me this orange liquid to drink..she told me to take it an hour before my next visit..so last Friday I took the liquid like she said..(btw she told me it was to help check for diabetes or whatever)..that day I had to get my blood drawn..but before I told the med aid I took the liquid..she was surprised and frustrated. She said I wasn't suppose to have that until I was 24 weeks..at the time I was 12w6d..I have yet to get a call with the results of my blood test etc..and I don't go back till June 9th..I'm worried.

    I got checked for it early in my pregnancy too. It's because (regular) diabetes runs in my family. They try to catch it early if you are more susceptible to it. It doesn't hurt being checked for it that early. Im 29 weeks and I'm getting ready to take my 3rd glucose test tomorrow. I failed the first, passed the second and hopefully pass the third!

    I know if you have diebetes in the family sometimes they recommend an early test.. but

    I had one done around that time as well and then two weeks ago due to my family history of diabetes.

    @firsttimer don't be worried. It's also more prevelant in African Americans which could also be a reason u were tested early. I'm half black, and my mom has diabetes. Believe me, I had a long talk with my doctor.

    I did one at like 11 or 12 weeks then i gotta do it later.

    My mom got gd n it runs in family while prego yet I didnt have test till 26 weeks with daughter n didn't have it. Doc told me if they do blood test and somethin is off they will test early for gd

    Sorry..thanks for the advice..I'm gonna call my doc today..because its been a week and I want to know the results..as far as family with diabetes only my great grandmother..

    usually when they don't call it means everything is fine. but if you're worried then you should call for peace of mind. I didn't have one done til about 25 weeks tho.
