Has anyone found themselves to be very intolerant to any prenatals? I ened up just taking folic acid tablets until my appointment. Prenatals make me violently throw up.
i had an appt today cause i was bleeding and i wasnt even given my prenatals yet... i had to have blood work done to see if my hcg levels are going up or not before they do i think... i am taking folic acid and dha which is a pill for brain eyes and pregnancy development... when did your docs give you your prenatals?
Vitamins make me vomit, esp prenatels. I make sure I have a full stomach, and drink lots of water. Mostly its the swelling in your stomach that makes you vomit. I started off taking them at night after I eat something, chug a bunch of water, then lay down. They also make gummy prenatels that seem to be easyer on our stomach. Either way eat first and drink a ton. That should solve most of it.. Good luck!
Omg I soo gotta get the gummy ones...the vitamns are horrible they just make u sick n throw up.. I need a diffrent idea but definaly gummy ones sound good
@lovethemoon I don't know about everywhere else but in los angeles the doctors don't give you the prenatels its just a vitamin you can get at your local drug store. They can be pricey but the store brand usually works just fine and is a little cheeper
Oh yes! Could not keep them down! My doc told me I could have 2 flintstone chewable vitamins instead! One in the morning, one in the evening...much better!!
@first ... you are supposed to take vitamins while you are eating because some vitamins can only be absorbed with food. I take mine halfway through the meal @junebbyboy ... yep I bought mine at GNC my dr wouldn't see me until after 7 weeks and I read its very important to start prenatals asap...as long as they have either no vitamin A or vit A as beta-carotene. The GNC brand has beta-carotene
@first your welcome Folic acid is a b-vitamin which is difficult for the body to absorb properly unless taken with food, we usually get most of our b-vitamins from meats...after I learned this I started taking mine about halfway through eating the meat on my plate maybe in hopes of tricking my body in thinking its getting all the vitamins from my chicken. Lol
@ashes ya my doctor wouldn't see me till 6 weeks so I went and got them the day I found out I was pregnant! Lol I just got the rite aid brand with folic acid and my doctor said they were ok
@junebbyboy ... that was exactly me! Lol. I took a test, positive, and went out to get another test and bought vitamins at the same time haven't seen my doc yet but that's what good ol' google is for B-)
I have prenatal gummy vitamins at night. Im sick in the mornings so nights work best for me. They taste like candy. I bought mines at Walmart. It was like $12 which isn't a bad price
