baby shower issue (not my shower)

So I have only been to one baby shower in my life when I was like 10 so I have zero ideas about these things. im supposed to go to one on sunday. I have looked at her registry and everything she has on it are basically decorations for the baby's room. Being a teacher at a preschool, I know of so many more useful things she will NEED. I want to get her what she wants, and I know she doesnt have much stuff yet. Should I get her what she needs or buy stuff off of her registry?

    You should ask her first. Maybe she already has the essentials and that is why she only listed decorations. If she hasnt gotten any of the essentials I would just buy her whatever you want. I always considered the registry as a wish list...

    I got stuff that wasn't on my register and it didn't mind..and some more experienced moms knew what I would need better then me so I was grateful they got things they knew I would need
