Hmmm... yes. It's about the love, not the ring. I do think he should get you some kind of ring, though. Even a little silver ring as a symbol and something for you to have until he is able to get a real ring. It obviously matters since you asked the question. I wouldn't reject him, though. That would be hurtful and he'd never forget it.
NI accepted. I just wanted others opinion. I def love him & him just doin it unexpectedly rly caught me off guard. He gt on 1 knee & all. He said hes gonna get me a ring soon but I think hes tryin 2 go all out & I just want somethin simple so I can scream 2 my family, friends, & the world im engaged lol..thnxs 4 ur input.
Yes, a ring is just a symbol..me and my boyfriend plan on getting engaged but he wants a ring first so he can do the whole down on one knee thing but to me a ring is not important, I know we will get married one day but right now we have more important things to spend our money on..we love eachother and plan on being together forever, regardless of a ring or a piece of paper

Yes I would...as long as there WILL be a ring eventually! And if anybody says anything to you about not getting one then tell them, "it's not about the ring to me." And they'll look like jackasses for making it seem important! ha ha!

Yea thts wat ima tell them. Thnxs @baileygoose...my aunt said she wldnt take her bd seriously if he did it witout a ring. Thought tht was shallow but 2 each its own. & yes im excited. I want a small summer wedding. Just my closest friends & family
Honestly I'm not sure, I don't think I would take it as seriously. Everybody and every relationship is different. For me the ring isn't important in terms of cost and carats. But it *is* a symbol.

I love my husband more than anything, but the ring symbolizes to me that he is financially able and a token of love....
But if he didn't have a ring bc he wanted me to go with him to pick it out that's different.
