Seizures in utero? Really scared...

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
I'm 32w 1d and about 30 min ago I felt like what I would describe as my baby having a seizure in the womb. This is my 4th pregnancy & I NEVER had this feeling with my others. I also felt this same feeling about a week ago, but dismissed the concern, telling myself I was over reacting. The shaking/trembling was a constant shaking that lasted approx 10 secs (felt like ALOT longer at the time). But I started looking it up online and got really scared. Has anyone else had this experience? I go to dr Monday and also have an ultrasound already scheduled for the same time.

  • By the way, my other 3 children are from my first marraige, this is my new husband and my first child together. He does have 3 kids with his ex, and none of our other kids have any history of any seizures.
  • And I know it WAS NOT hiccups or my baby being 'overactive'. (just saying)
  • Ive never heard of it but i would call my doctor and describe it to him.
  • @angelsmommy , you think I should call now or just tell him @ my appointment? I was kinda waiting to see if it happened again. Since then, she has been moving like normal. A part of me is scared to call because i dont want to find something wrong. So far all u/s & tests have been normal.

@babygirl716 I have had it before but didn't think of it as a seizure feeling at the time, but that is exactly what it felt like! Here is a link that describes what it could be: http://www.babycenter.com/400_seizures-in-utero_2650611_240.bc. It seems like you are in the same range as these ladies who were experiencing it as well. I am 32w 5d today.

(This is my first time posting so I hope I tagged that right)
  • @bwilliams24 , i'm looking at that site right now. Thanks so much!
  • I would go ahead and call better safe than sorry just tell them you were concerned and see what they say. Never hurts to ask.
  • Yeah it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor. I only had it once or twice maybe that I remember. Let us know what you find out!
  • @angelsmommy & @bwilliams24 thanks ladies. Always reassuring knowing theres someone up at any hour of the night that I can count on. I will let ya'll know what I find out. Thx again...
