car wreck!!!

edited May 2011 in Pregnant
So I was in a wreck about 12:15! I was driving and a car coming from the opposite direction decided to turn about ten feet from me right in front of me and I had no choice but to hit my brakes and run into him because he turned in my lane! I think baby Karsen is fine had an ultrasound and im feeling him move, but my back is killing me and all they will give me is tylenol!!! My car is totaled! Airbags hit deployed and all!! Has anyone else been in thiis situation? Can they give me something more for the paain?? And if u have been through this was ur baby fine??? I swear this kid who hit me is a jerk! To turn right on front of me risking not only his own life but my unborn sons and mine!! How stupid just to try and beat an oncoming car?????? And he was on his fu**ing cell pphone!!! Kids shouldn't be allowed to drive!!

  • Jeez! That sucks so bad but I'm really glad to hear that you and baby made it through that whole ordeal safely. That's a real blessing. Thank God!
  • Wow I am sorry that this happened to you. I have never been in an accident, but i wish you the very best. I think you might be able to get something more for the pain, but my only reason for saying that is because I had kidney problems and they gave me percocet.. not that that is really much more then Tylenol. I wish I could be more help. I am glad the baby is ok!
  • I was never in a car accident but both my pregnancies have had complications with huge amount of pain and I have got percocet and they also gave me morphin in a shot. They should be able to give you more then tylonal.
  • Glad you are both ok!
Did he get the ticket? Does he have insurance?
  • They normally won't give you anything stronger unless your doctor writes it cause they don't want to be blamed if something does happen. How far along ar you? Cause when I had my accident my doctor wrote a script for vicodin which only dulled my pain but he said they don't like to give it til much later in pregnancy bc the risk of mc goes up with taking narcotics. But it doesn't hurt to ask but the er docs wont write it unless your ob orders it personally cause then they can't be blamed.sorry hope the helps a little. Andi hope you anyour baby recover quickly your in my prayers!
  • Im 20 weeks and I couldn't get out of the car luckily as soon as it happened the guy behind me wrote a statement saying there was nothing I could do! Im sure the kids got a ticket idk if he had insurance but we have full coverage! Either way idk what'sthe best thing to do? Should I get a lawyer right away?? Should I not talk to anyone till I see an attourney??.

  • I was in a car accident at 13 weeks. I was driving a nissan versa (small car) when a gmc suburban (huge car) was driving in the oncoming lane, lost control of her car, skimmed a car in front of me and then hit me head on. scary as hell, especially since i was too early to feel the baby to know if she was okay. my car was totaled also . they took me to the hospital on a stretcher in the ambulance. i got a ct scan (to check my neck/spine) x-ray (for my right hand which we thought was broken) and a sonogram to check my little peanut. they couldnt give me pain meds, (well i didnt want them anyways.. paranoid something might happen to peanut) so i stuck with tylenol which sucked. and i got the rhogam (sp?) shot since im rh - . but i healed up and have been going to the chiropractor. im just glad that me and my baby girl are fine thank god :)
im glad you and your baby are fine ! ask your doc if you can take any stronger meds, other then that just get some rest ! your gonna be more sore tomorrow trustt me :-(
