I'm 38 weeks, and I went in this morning for my cervical exam, found out was not dilated, my baby has not dropped and my plug has not come out, is it normal for only having 2 weeks left, anyone else in the same boat or close to it

I did that last time, but I ended up getting induced the day before my due date. (I know, probably not what you wanted to hear.)

I'm in the same boat as you! I went tuesday, my cervix is soft but closed, still have my plug intact. I'm 38 weeks and 3 days now. I never dialated with my first pregnancy until my water broke and I was given pitocin later.

You do have two weeks left though and a lot can happen in two weeks! So don't get too discouraged!

Yes its normal. I am 40 wks only dilated 1 cm. My Dr told me she doesn't even bother checking dilation or effacement until 39 wks unless you specifically ask because some women can be not dilated at all then go into labor that night, while some women can walk around dilated at 2 cms for 2 wks.

I was dialated for almost two months before my due date....kept worrying id go into labor early....I would rater mine have been closed:(

That and some women lose their plug in pieces over a long period of time, some lose it all at once, some not at all, and some regenerate it.

@homebirthadvocate Exactly. I am way happy with my doctor. She finally checked me and it was NOT comfortable.

Thanks now I don't feel so worried about it I aslo have that group b strep and I'm rh negative so I don't know if I can be induced I just don't want to have her extremely late either
