COULD IT BE LABOR?!

edited May 2011 in Third Trimester
woke up a few times during the nights with cramps, went pee, and attributed it to that.

Now, I'm cramping in my low abdomen (right above pelvic bone) - about every 8 minutes for the last 1/2hr lasting about 40sec. It feels like very bad menstrual cramps and I contract w it, but the pain is only in the low part.

Could this be he beginning of labor?
I'm 37+6 weeks, was 3 cm dilated Tuesday and lost my mucous plug Wednesday.

Does it start as these cramps?

  • Could definatly be labor starting ... try walking around, if they ease up or stop they are not real labor pains.
  • yeh it does start with cramps and sometimes will move round to your back... is your tummy getting hard when they last about 40 secs? you could well be starting. im excited for you..
  • @prettymommy86 .. yeah I'm going to try moving more because they seem to be a little more spaced as I move more.

@englishrose .. yeah the last one I had hit my back too, feels like squeezing. Hopefully this is a start...
  • fingers crossed, i agree with prettymommy86, try going for a nice long walk or try a warm bath to make you feel more comftable. have you have any BH's?
  • Yep, just tried going shopping to walk it off and definitely didn't help. I'm going to go home and try to relax some more. Lasting about a minute, about every 8-10 minutes, but also some pains in-between sometimes. But he's still moving around...

I heard baby stops or really slows movement while in labor, anyone know if its true ?
