@vette- true, But emts are trained for emergencies. Not trying to pursuade I just like to see every woman have a fair chance to be able to experience it.
@m- I am due on september 5 (26weeks). I have done a TON of research, and my midwife/doula are both very experiences and specialize in natural and home water births. I trust them both completely. I totally reccommend ANY and EVERY pregnant woman to watch The Business of Being Born. It will truly inspire you... not to mention make you cry (: happy tears or course.
and yes, having the baby at home does create a better suitable environment because of the relaxed and comfortable state. And you can climb into bed afterwards!
that movie opened my mind. i had no idea how uneducated i was before i was pregnant! im just happy that i have resousrces to find out what i need to know and im content that i know everything ill need to know as far as facts go... i wish i could have a at home water birth but its illegal to give birth at home in delaware. sooooo i have to opt for a birthing center which fortunately they just buit one in my hospital. i know its like contradicting itself buit ive only heard good experiences and im going on june 8th to check it out and see if i like the staff and whatnot. i want to have a water birth. i like the idea that its more relaxing for u and the baby and the babys already clean when he/she comes out
I just watched that movie and it was amazing. I would love to do a home birth but I am high risk and I can't.....But we have a natural birthing center here at my hospital and I am going to deliver there with the doctor.
