Hey ladies! My daughter is 3 wks old today and has broken out. It happen last week & I took her to the doctor n they say its baby acne! It don't seem like acne to me. Mayb something she is allergic too or something. The bumps are all on her arms n legs! Wat should I do about it!? Cuz if I go back to her pediatrician I'm bound to tick on her seriously! Is it something safe I cud use?

  • It probably is baby acne if thats what the pediatrician said..my son had for a few wks.it will go away by itself
  • Baby acne is common, unfortunately I don't think you can put anything like lotion on it to clear it up. It does go away on its own unless its a skin condition. Natural remedies, say breastmilk on affected areas work but I never tried that.
  • My daughter did the same and it was bc of the dye in some clothing. I had to make sure I washed everything before it was worn by her.

  • My daughter had baby acne too and it doesn't look cute but it will go away. She told me that it was actually my hormones that gave it her. Crazy I know! But it did go away on its own.
  • Just like our bodies go through a lot of hormonal changes after birth, theirs do too. It will clear up on it's own.
  • Off topic..sorry.. But the meconium(first poo) I read using olive oil makes it the easiest to clean..has anyone tried this?
  • Unscented and fragrance free dye free soaps! All free n clear laundry soap dove unscented body soap and cetaphil lotions! No more smell goods it will irratate the skin horribly ....

  • @Jaime77 yes it does help, and since it's natural is much easier on baby's skin than trying to wipe it all with a baby wipe, this way you can just use gentle motions with a cloth
  • Thanks! Yes I guess we use a lil olive oil and the poo glides right off. I remember using tons of wipes in the hospitsl, this tip is a neat one :) I'm going to add some to my hospital bag lol
  • Sorry, my spelling is getting terrible lately! ;)
  • @Jaime77 I used olive oil on a cotton ball, much softer and cleans it right off. Plus you aren't wasting your wipes, a container of wipes is more expensive than a bag of cotton balls
  • Maybe its exzema (sp)? My son had it when he was a newborn and he also had baby acne.....I used aveeno oatmeal wash its fragrance free and it worked wonders you can put it in her tub and wash her with it and that should help......Good luck sweetie!

  • @happymommyof2 I dnt think so its stays pretty cool n my house
  • One it could be a heat rash.....or dry skin ,,,baby acne .....or yes a allergic reaction but a doc can tell if its a allergic reaction ....o also it can be from ur laundry soap baby skin is sensitive my daughter use to breakout from the soap everyonce n a while tell I bought baby laundry soap
  • I'm usin dreft. Its baby laundry soap. I just have to wash all her new clothes before she wears them..
