top ten choking hazards for kids.. this is just one list.. there are many.. lol

1. grapes
2. blueberries
3. hot dog pieces
4. Kix or other round cereal puffs
5. Skittles, M&Ms, or round candy pieces (not that you’re giving it to your baby but if someone else is enjoying them, they are likely to find them around somewhere)
6. ball bearings (like in Magnetix or MagneBlocks)
7. marbles (in several kids’ games)
8. Rokenbok balls
9. Lego heads, wheels, and tires
10. stringing beads (or beads on little girls’ accessories)

  • because they are slippery.. i would assume.. and ive seen many people cut them into rounds which makes them more dangerous.. i think its find if they are cut the right way .. and if its a bigger child.. its simply cause they dont chew well and gets jammed in their throats.. ugh Simplyraven22406
  • anything you can fit through a toilet paper roll they can choke on. at least that what I've been told about toys lol
  • yep ive heard that too.. but you'd be surprised at what ive seen parents allow there youngster to play with to pacify them.. i think one of the worst would be a bottle cap ... and when they werent looking i through it away.. i just couldnt bare to witness this.. and this was with more that one person.. mrs_wainright
  • cherries.....with the nuts in them. I've seen my friends baby choke on it.
  • its scary and the same friend had a one year old and a xmas tree in her lr unattended.. i was like.. shouldnt you have put the tree in the kitchen wich was blockoff but still in the open were people could see it.. she was like no.. not even 10min later her daughter had a tiny glass bulb in her mouth broken up... she was freaking out .. she moved the tree of cours.. some people .. i swear..Mommie_McAtee

  • my coworker's daughter swallowed a penny a couple of weeks ago n it stuck in her throat she was able to talk the docs had to use a scope to take it out... I would have died

  • I don't want to sound mean but anything a child can get in there mouth is a choking hazard. :( I've learned That the hard way :(

  • I swallowed a quarter when I was little, so I imagine pocket change also makes the list.
  • And my sister choked on christmas tree tinsel, luckily I got it out of her throat with my finger(against the advice of 911 lol)
  • I was always giving my toddler cheerios and other snacks in the car until he choked one day while I was driving! It was traumatic for us both!

    Depends on the age and how well they eat..my son ate of all of those@ a young age and was fine..what he did choke on are noodles ...but yes pretty much anything tiny tiny a child can choke on..i still cut up the hot dog cus i think its easier to eat and it more taste better to him then a whole dog..
    Also he would choke on food if he shoved it n his mouth ..ani would have to pull it out of his throat
  • i think the worst os hard camdy because ive seen so many kids choke on them. including my own after i advised my husband and mil not to give him. he was 5 ugh.. geuss who was right an had to do the child himlic
