I'm 26 weeks and have used palmers strech mark lotion since week 5 when I found out about baby..its aweful X( it smalls bad, its greasy and I hate it! I thought it would be worth it but no..I have 2 new stretch marks on my tummy and 2 or 3 on my hips! Wth am I doing wrong? I use it after every shower + in the morning and before bed. Lotion..were done! When your gone I will be moving on to another product because you have let mme down for the last time! Thanks for letting me rant as yelling at the lotion didn't seem to phase it lol. Ps-suggestions on a replacement lotion would be awesome!

  • Unfortunately there isn't any lotion that 100% prevents stretch marks, the appear no matter what we do :( BUT I heard a lot if ladies rave about "bio oil" u can use to diminish the marks. U can get it at walgreens. Sorry I dnt hav any cool potion to prevent them :(
  • Yea there's nothing that will pevent stretchmarks sadly :( .. I've heard bio oil helps make them less visible you could try that. Just think of it as mommy love marks :)

  • Mommy love marks..I like that :) I'm not bothered by them to much but I also would prefer to not be covered in em by the end of this ordeal lol. Bio oil huh? Guess I will try that next time.thanks for the advise ladies :)
  • @firsttimemommytobe. I have heard its genetic and sadly, I think it may be true :( my friend used cocoa butter and it worked well, she really liked it but its a bummer it doesn't work the same for all of us. (She also wore her size 0 pants home from the hospital so I definatly think she's the exception, not the rule!)
  • Yes im using bio oil now I had my daughter in february it seems to be helping my friend says she uses the new mederma lotion n it works but thats $40 n bio oil is only 10

  • Ten?? I over paid then bc my bio oil was seventeen! But I love it and it smells yummy I think! So far no stretch marks!
  • They have Mederma for strech marks now. It is new I am not sure if it works but I know mederma works for scars really well. I looked online and it looks like its about $35-40 at most places.
  • I bought it too & hated it. I got target brand deep conditioning cocoa lotion & love it. Doesn't do anything for stretch marks but I did try mederma samples That were given to me by doctor. Not sure it helped!
  • my doctor told me if my mother got them that i will most likely have them also which i have them! i wish i had my grandmas skin! she has the perfect indian skin!
  • @wendylouwhoo I like targets generic products a lot so maybe I could try that. Cocoa butters gotta smell better then palmers..my poor shaun hates the smell so much he doesn't like to snuggle after I put it on cause it makes his hands 'smell like ass'. Lol! Thanks for the suggestion!
@lovemyangelbabys does your lotin seem to be making them less noticable? Just curious since you had your babe already and your on the shrinking side, rather then the growing side lol :) congrates on your baby too!
Ladies..thank you for all the responces! I'm a first timer so I'm not really sure about this kind of stuff. Does anyone know if nivea makes a stretchy-lotion? I like normal nivea a lot :) also..is there anything special about lotions that claim to help prevent these marks..? Maybe there just regular lotion in disguise..thanks :)
  • Drinking a lot of fluids will hellp somewhat however there is no lotion that prevents stretch marks even thou they advertise it does. Keep it moisterizing helps streching skin not to itch.
  • I love Palmers!!
  • @sands3 really!?! So envious..I wanted so bad to like it, it has a preggo lady on the bottle and I heard good things from friends and everything and it just..sucks for me! It doesn't seem to work at all :( so jelous of you
  • I gained 50lbs with my first and didn't get a single stretch mark. I'm 17 weeks now and haven't gotten any yet. Maybe its the lotion, maybe its luck...
  • That it! Ladies listen up im only going to say this one time. STRETCH MARKS ARE A BADGE OF A REAL WOMAN! lol! I know try suck but teu fade in time. I have small light ones from my 1st they poped back out on mu 2nd and now im still waiting to c about my third. It'd not a big deal. Flaunt them with pride dont hide away
  • I hate palmers as well. It smells awful. I'm just using regular lotion everyday. I really like nivea lotion. It smells really good and makes you super soft. >:D< but I haven't seen any for stretch mark yet.
  • when I had a non pregnancy related surgery, I used vitamin e oil, and no one can see my scars. It might help.
  • Maybe I'm crazy but I like the smell. Lol
  • I like the mederma stretch mark therapy cream, it smells like flowers too
  • I use Cetaphil restorative. I get eczema and it is approved by the eczema society so I figured it would help with that too. Only time will tell.
