valentines day at chickfila and a movie... while hubby bought himself a new xbox?!

is it wrong for me to be pissed that a month or 2 ago I told my husband what I wanted for vday (a camera). And all I get is chickfila (which I don't mind bc I was craving it) and a movie and that's bc I suggested we do something!! He hadnothing planned. This is our first valentines day as a married couple not to mention I'm pregnant!! I have a son from a previous relationship he's 5yrs old. Well today we got our tax refund back so I thought yay!! We're def doing something for vday or he's gonna at least get me flowers. Nope!! We go out and run errands pay some bills. Then he gets himself the new xbox with kinect $300 I get a bella band and a season of "how I met your mother" my son gets a beanie. Does that seem fair??? I know he's been wanting the xbox bc he's been talking about forever! So I let him get it bc I love him! All I wanted was a camera but since it seemed that wasn't happening I settled for a pedi which I won myself at paper rock scissors bc he didn't wanna let me have it. And I asked him to get my son a leapster bc he looooves video games but id rather him play educational ones since he loves learning as well he said no after he asked my opinion and I gave him good reasons for him to get him the leapster!! And he wants to get mad at a comment I made playfully to his mom. She was complaining that no one sent her flowers at her job and all the other ladies got stuff. I said "oh don't worry I didn't get any either but its okay bc I know I'm loved" (she wanted my husband to get her flowers) so now he's sleeping in the living room mad at me and I'm mad at him. Seriously rethinking our marriage if he's this selfish.. what do you ladies think??

    That sucks, go get urself your camera its ur money too. And ur baby deserves his leapster I think I would kick my hubbys butt if he did that.

    Thanks!! I didn't know if I was just in a hormonal rage or if I had good points. I will go get my baby his leapster :D idc if I get my camera as long as my son gets his leapster id rather a million times over see him happy, that makes ME happy... why can't he be like that? Ugh..

    LoL Yes, you have valid points, but I don't think its worth splitting up over lol Video games are like next to sex for them I swear. Just try to calm down now, and talk it over when your less emotional. You can let him know what a jerk he was. And hopefully work it out. Good luck. And watch out if he gets x box live!! I swear I almost left my man over that one!! lol He finaly came around though. Realized his responsibilities came first. And if he ever wanted to be happy, I needed some attention BEFORE COD lol

    Oh lord tooo late he has xbox live and cod black ops!! He was using his sisters xbox which is why he bought his own! He does play A LOT. Stays up til 2 or 3am playing from 10pm .. then he won't get up til about 10am while I get 3 kids ready for school 1 is mine and 2 his sisters.. I just feel unappreciated :(.. he lost his job has been looking but to me that doesn't mean stay up all night on cod and sleep late while his pregnant wife gets up early to get these kids ready, cooks, cleans all while he's on xbox

    OMG Tell him tomorrow morning your not feeling well and see how he does with all you do. Grrr your situation makes me angry and I'm not even the one dealing with it. I wish you all the peace and happiness in the world. This is probably gonna sound horrible but when I'm feeling neglected by my hubby I put on my poor me face and ask him to do stuff for me like take out the trash or put laundry in the dryer. Lol

    Funny story though. I work at a gamestop and some dude came in today and bought a ps3 saying he was going to get in trouble for it. Haha

    Its early in your marriage so the good news is its not too late to set him straight. I think you need to be firm with him and stand up for yourself and your son. Tell him exactly how you feel and exacly what you expect. Don't hold anything back. He might get upset but don't take no for an answer when it comes to the happiness of yourself and your child!! Being strong and setting him straight now will make things easier in the long run. I know it might seem a bit harsh but you and your son deserve to be happy and that's not something that should be negotiated with!!!!

    While.he sleeps in, grab ur purse and go.out shopping for you and ur lil ones... If he can play his video games... why cant 5yr old do the same... Friend, you will need a camera for when bby arrives... If he asks u where ur going tell him... shopping, i just cant stand seeing u sleep late... let him get mad... oh well, he will get over it!!

    Thanks guys for all your support! Oh believe me my son is getting his leapster he's done very good in school and deserves it. This morning I let his mom deal with her daughters kids I got my son ready and went back to bed. I'm feeling a little better I slept some of my anger off.. still mad though. That's exactly why I want a camera! For the baby plus my son is about to start baseball (first year) I wanna get pics of my bump, baby shower etc. But cod is more important. Ima have a talk with him let him know how I feel. I'm not one to keep my feelings inside.

    I totally understand where you are coming from, after my daughter was born, he got laid off I worked 12 hrs during the week 8 on Saturday and 4-6 on Sunday just to make ends meet, I got up with her in the middle of the night every 2 hours because she was a premie get up go to work feed her & give her nebulizer on my lunch break, all while he stayed at home & played xbox live with his friends or chatted with his friends on Facebook, I begged him to stop well after a month of begging & pleading I shut the internet off and disconnected the cable. Told him to grow up and take responsibility when he shows me that, then I would turn it all back on....it worked...

    @momofthree, I like the way you think. LoL I swear you just made me want to stand up and applaud. Sometimes you have to be firm to get the reaction you're looking for. Men can be very selfish & until you give them an ultimatum sometimes you're stuck with that selfish behavior.

    @MrsHudson10 thanks! Yeah I told him if he wanted to act like a child he wad going to be treated like one, & almost 3 years later all I have to do is breathe hard & he knows that i'm getting aggravated that he is on. I pick my fights wisely I guess that's how he knows i'm serious.

    Good job! @momofthree... ima take some of that and use it myself.. we had a talk today he was ready to return the xbox this morning I stopped him and told him if he wanted one this was the only time he could get one bc after this its strictly bills and baby. He was happy I let him keep it. And he apologized for being a jerk about my sons leapster so he's getting it. He felt really bad. I told him my camera can wait but I def want it a couple months before baby. I let him know that I let him have the thing he likes that make him happy bc I love him andlove seeing him happy I want him to b the same so he sees my point and is gonna try his best to change that.. I'm so glad I could vent!! You guys are awesome! Ps.. he hasn't played black ops :)

    You are letting him get away with it, having the xbox, settling for apedi, stop confusing him and stop playing games, put your foot down on your feelings he doesn't get it he must be confused as hell. Guys only understand blunt, tell him what you want, no stories, no playfulness, direct get me a camera to make me happy, you should have done more for me if you can do that for yourself, tell him!
