major pain below is this normal????

I am 38 weeks 5 days and went to the dr today and I'm 3 cm dilated. Iam having major pain below, it hurts so bad to even move. Feels like someone punched me down there 50 times. Can anyone tell me what's going on????????

Sounds to me as if bubs is getting right down in to Ur pelvis 3cms is sounding good

It may be the baby dropping in preparation for birth. The head could be pushing against your pelvic bone.

His head has been against my cervix for weeks n I had mild pain but nothing like this. It hurts so bad
