So im 36 weeks and im soo curious to hear stories about how your water broke!! Its gettin closer and im just nervous/ want to know what pains/feelings to expect!! :-) Thanks!
I'm on my #4. My water only broke once as I was admitted in L&d for baby #2. I took a shower in the hospital to relieve my back and as I stepped out of the shower my water broke on its own. I giggled, it was really gross n funny! My 1st and 3rd babies bags were broken by the doctors.
with my son my water was leaking slowly. I didn't even know it was my water that had broken until and it was happen for about 2 days. I got to doc sat on table and she told me to go to hospital. She didnt think I was in labor even through I told her I throught I was leaking and having contractions. With my daughter there was no mistake. It wasn't a gush of water more like a faucet on low.
@Jaime77- lol i hope my water breaks unexpectedly but I will probably be terrified so im hoping my experience is similar to yours @menemami- thats soo funny and weird! All the people i have heard stories from say its like a big gush lol .. i hope that doesnt happen to me ill probably think im just having little accidents lol - Thanks for sharing ladies
My water broke with my first. It was in the middle of the night i woke up feeling strange, i can't really explain it. When i stood up out of bed to go to the bathroom my water broke. It was really gross, actually. and every time i moved it gushed some more! by the time we got to the hospital my pants were soaked clear to the bottom and my shoes were wet! WIth my second it didn't break til after i started pushing and i ended up soaking a nurse! lol it was funny. I thought my husband was going to fall over he was laughing so hard. Thats what she gets for telling me not to push and to wait for the dr. hahaha
I was laying in bed one morning and was feeling really blah and crampy, when all of a sudden I felt this twinge and immediately heard and felt a pop in my pelvic area. For a second, I thought maybe my baby had broken a bone or something happened to her in there lol. Well, I quickly realized it may very well be my water that just broke, so I stood up and walked to the bathroom. As I sat on the toilet, nothing happened, then it started coming out of me. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just pee, so I sat there about 10 minutes and sure enough it kept coming! It was exciting, I had never been so excited to make such a mess of my pants lol! )
@momanar- that is hilarious. ( Note to self- pack extra pants or wear black pants lol ) Egh i didnt know it was going to be GROSS lol ...I've been swimmin alot and iwas worried i wouldnt be able to tell if it broke in the pool..but im guessing it wont look exactly like water o:-) @BkE913- Lol i love that story..yeah i cant wait .. i hope i have an exciting story to tell like yours and im going to keep my "flip video recorder" near by so i can capture the Excitement lol ( note to self- if i hear a pop maybe my water broke lol - i know every women is different but still good advice lol ) -Thanks for sharing ladies!! @Anxious_1mom actually, one of my friends water broke while she was taking a bath and she didnt realize!! She was in there for about an hour and felt the contractions but didnt think it was actual labor, when she got out, she started walking and she said it hurt so bad she fell to her knees, her mom called 9-11 but ended up delivering her baby before they got there! (She lives about 20 minutes out of town) i didnt believe her when she told me!! Lol its like straight outta the movies. But now im terrified of taking a bath lmao
well with my first they broke my waters for induction I laughed n shes like no one ever laughsed b4 lol n I put my trackie pants bACk on n they where drenched straight away n the midwifes like um u need them off lol
2nd at 6cm midwife broke waters again had bub 15 mins l8r
3rd I was pushing 4 an hr n I said to midwife please break my waters n shes like sure but u gotta role over cause I was over a bean bag so I did she broke them then got me the birth stool n if it wasnt for fatsos head wouldve been quicker but bout 20min prob took to get her out 3 pushes n lots of panting 3hr labour not bad for 10lb12 baby lol
I told this story on here before but it is a fun one. I was just shy of 35 weeks and in my sisters wedding. It was super hot and no air conditioning and everyone was teasing me that I would go into labor during the wedding. I didnt. I was thr matron of honor and at the beginning of the reception I gave my speech/toast. 5 mins later my husband helped me stand up and I sat right back down bc I thought I peed my pants for the first time! Nope, my water definitely broke and was gushing like movies lol. I was soaked. I watched my sister dance with my dad and then headed up to the hospital
With my 1st I had gone to the dr and he stripped my membrane and I went to walk around the mall. I stopped to talk to my boss and tell her how it was going. ( I was 3 days past due date) then started walking again. And felt like I was getting a little wet. Like maybe I needed to pee but didn't realize. Lol. I went to the bathroom and my pants were a little wet. Anyways then we went to wash my moms car at the self car wash. Lol. Doing our best to "start labor" in the meantime I was still leaking. Then we went home and my mom had just barely left. I went down to my room and changed my pants cuz they were very wet. Lol. I called l&d and told them I thought my water was leaking and they said to go in. So I called my mom told her to come back and we went in. I called my husband and told him I was going in and he left work. Lol. That's my story. Sorry so long.
One morning my husband was up getting ready to go to work. I stepped off the bed to go to the bathroom and it felt like I peed my pants a little. I told my husband that I think my water broke but wasn't sure. (I always thought its supposed to be a big gush). He said no its not, I just peed myself. So I went back to bed. I had to call him 30 mins later cause the pain was unbearable. Sure enough my water had broke.

I was induced with my first 2 but my youngest it was new years day and I got up in the morning and I kept leaking like I was peeing my self. It wouldn't stop. I called my Dr and he told me to go in. They checked me out and yep my water broke but my sons big head was plugging it up! Lol They had to brake it more. He was 11lbs
with my first i was 37+6 and was just exhausted, even though i was on bed rest. so hubby and i were laying in bed watcing tv and hubby had taken sleeping pills. he has a sleep disorder, so he had to take them in order to fall asleep and poor guy finally broke down to take one. so I was very so ironically laying in bed thinking "wouldn't that suck if i went into labor tonight? i'm hungry. i should go get something to eat before bed." what do you know, as I was struggling to get out of bed and roll myself out of bed my waters broke!!! I was in disbelief. but i high- tailed it to our master bathroom and stood of the toilet until it all stopped....but it didn't. (later found out that one of my waters broke, but the other had a hole in it). i was hollering at hubby to get up. *duh...he's OUT* i wrapped a towel around me as if i were a sumo wrestler and waddled over to hubs and told him to get up "my water just broke." you know what he says to me?! "ok, clean it up!" (hilarious to think about it now) so i waited a minute, got some clothes on as i am still soaking through the clothes i have on. i again nudge hubby and say "hey, my water broke, it's time to have this baby... wake up!" still out of it he says "get a new one." one more attempt i rolled him almost off the bed and said "HEY! get up, hospital...baby...water broke...let's get movin." he says "go get some more... (long pause) oh! oh!..... YOUR water broke? ok, get your bag ready." lol!! she was born exactly 38 wks....and I did NOT get something to eat before hand. i didn't know if it would have an impact or not, so i played it safe. not to mention i was strep b + so i needed my iv for minimum 12 hrs before baby was to be born.
with my second- hubby, daughter (15 mo. old.. technically she was asleep) and I were sitting watching tv. i just got done eating ice cream and was about to get up to put my bowl away. before i get up to move i heard a loud pop! I ran almighty speed to the bathroom and this time both waters fully broke- so i wasn't waddling around wiht a towel hubby knew what happened so he called my parents to come care for our daughter while we drove 1 hr to the hospital i was transfered to. our son was born at exactly 39 wks.
*with both kids my waters broke at 10p on a Wednesday night, concluding an episode of Prison Break, and were both born the next day.... daughter was born at 6:47pm and son was born at 6:58am.
@anxious_1mom I pushed him out! It was hell. I pushed for 2 hours then the doc had to push him back in a little because he was so big he almost broke my pelvic bone and his shoulder bone. We were in the hospital over a week because he had gotten alot of fluid in his lungs and had to be on oxygen. But now he is 2 and as big as my 3 year old lol. When he was born the doc told me I just gave birth to a 3 month old. Lol
#1 was a c section cuz of breech, cathiter in and walking to the or i thought i had to pee (pressure) i thought I'd use the bag attached.... my sock was soaked! Told the nurse the catheter was in wrong Cuzco IM all wet and a puddle on the floor... the doors to the or open and i tell my doctor he said i better get up on his table otherwise I'd have feet dangling outta me Cuz that was my water not pee!!!
Me and my bf just got done doing the buisness and I was getting ready to fall asleep. I out a pillow between my legs and kissed my bd, well a minute later water was gushing out and I was like oh no really? I thought I peed myself until I realized it didn't stop. Fourty five minutes later I was holding my wonderful little girl. Who was born on her due date.

Im at work and it made me laugh out loud lol..But thats was soo exciting lol .. @Smgibbs - GOSH i bet lol...well long as he was ok but man o man i couldnt imagine pushing out that big of a baby!! @angel26- If ur weird im a total freak for posting a discussion about it lol but i love it .and i think its informational and interresting lol @ace_baber_3- wow lol great story..yeah as i get bigger if i dont potty right away ill tingle a little on myself lol and when she moves and im full of water .so i hope i dont think i just pee'd lol @KalikoJenie- they tell me doing the do makes labor come faster BUT lord lol and 45 mins later i hope i have a quick delivery
Hey the way I figured it, I don't think I could have handled some of these long labors that I read about. Especially when I was 19. I had read every book, and talked to many people went to many classes and was scared I was going to have back labor or one the lasted 50 something hours.. especially since I was going completely natural! I did enjoy the experience that is why I wish we had birthing centers around here. It was the best experience I have had to date, and I'm sure it will be even after this one.
