I am goin to b giving birth naturally whn the time comes without pain meds or epidural. Just wonderin if anyone else has done it naturally and wat I should expect
Everyone is really different. Some women can tolerate more pain then other. I had three children all natural no pain meds or epidural. I try to focus on seeing the baby over the pain. Some births u may feel pain in ur back other in the front. Is this ur first?
Lol, I love hearing women say that. I said that with my first and then took everything they would give me. With my second I didn't have anything. It wasn't planned that way as my first labour was awful but everything happened so quick that I didn't even have gas and air. My main advice to you is don't go on saying your not gonna have anything as believe me it hurts.more than anything you have ever experienced. I'm not saying you won't do it what I'm saying is it bloody hurts so go with an open mind and if you have pain relief don't feel bad as its there for a reason x good luck x
I went completely natural. We didn't make it to the hospital, she was born in the van on the way. My contractions woke me up during early hours of the morning, i noticed they were five minutes apart at 6 am. I was still sleeping in between, but by seven i was hurting pretty bad. That's when i realized it was real labor. I wanted to do as much as i could at home, so i took some tylenol, drank and tried to eat. They seemed to start in my back, like muscle pain, then my abdomen would tighten, but they only lasted ep seconds or so. Sometimes they would come faster or my belly would get tighter, but i just kept counting my breaths in and out. I moved around alot, i liked to squat on my knees and move up and down. When the pains came, i just relaxed my whole body, became completely limp all over. I could feel the pain move through me, but as long as i thought about it "moving" it wasn't so bad. They continued to get stronger and longer, but i started to feel my pelvis opening and lots of pressure in my pelvic area, so we tried to go to the hospital. I climbed a full flight of stairs to get to our van, stopping every two or three steps for another contraction. Thay started getting worse, and i began to sweat. We drove 90 miles an hour down the highway, the bumps made me irritable, andr this is the only time i remember real pain. There was so much pressure in my pelvic bone, and the pressure stayed between contractions. My doula took off my pants, when i raised my leg off the seat, my water broke. It was painful then, and i felt like i needed to push. I waited until the next contraction, took a deep breath, and pushed as hard as i could. I could actually feel her head coming out. It was really hard, but i waited until the next contraction to push her the rest of the way out. We were almost to the hospital, so i rubbed her to stimulate breathing. She was pink very quickly, and coughing and looking around. My husband cut the cord when we got to the delivery room, and the doctor delivered the placenta. This was not my first birth, it only lasted about 5 hours, she was born at 1120 am. It was something I'll never forget. I am 22 weeks along with my fourth and final child, and im going completely natural again.. but this time i wont wait so long to get to the hospital.
I did natural with my 1st and had less pain and faster recovery. Then my 2nd witch I had to be induced. I stayed home for most of my labor the first time I checked in at 12:01am and my son was delivered 1:08am I was laughing and normal conversation for the entire labor. With my second I checked into the hospital at 10:45pm and delivered at 8:15am I only got a iv pain killer that time it took the edge off and didn't last long the pain was over welming but tolerable. I do how ever have a high pain tolerance.
Ya this is my first. I'm so nervous I have a very high pain tolerance but idk if that's gonna b enough for me. Thank u for sharin your stories. Any advice for me n daddy for whn the time comes?
I planned on natural but after being in labor 20 hrs and only being 6cm I realized that I couldn't relax enough to get things moving along. I did have an epidural. It gave me the ability for a much needed nap. When I woke up less than two hours later it was time to push. Twenty min after waking up the baby was out. I think it helped my recovery only having it in for two hours bc I was up walking around in my own clothes about six hours later. I was the only mom that was walking around in the hallway. I would walk past all the other rooms and it seemed like I was the only one that even got outta the hospital gown. I figured getting up and getting moving as soon as possible was just gonna make it easier once I was home.
I'd like to give birth naturally, but if I can't handle it, then I'll take the drugs. I'd prefer some IV drugs to an epidural, but I don't want a sleepy, doped up baby either (maybe that's just if they give you morphine? Idk). I like the argument that our bodies are made for this. My hips are pretty wide and my doctor said I should have no problems, so hopefully that proves to be an advantage. I've also got a pretty good pain tolerance.
I'm not due until early sept. We r planning on takin all the classes we can and have turned into book worms since we found out. I also have good child bearing hips as my ma puts it. Hopefully all goes well and I can pull thru without meds
I believe anyone can do our I don't think you need child bearing hips or anything but I think if you put your mind to it you can do it my labors were short only 4 hours each but my first was 8.5 lb and 21 in my second 8.8 lb 21.5 in my suggestion is if you can go in a bath try that and walk it helped me with both good luck to everyone on your labor and birth too will all do great
Well I gave birth completely natural with my 3rd and it was the best labor I had! My first I went natural until 15 mins before I delivered her [I took stadol through iv] and it was awful because I was so "dopey" Iculdnt even keep my hands on my legs to push and couldn't her for almost 30 mins after she was born! With my 3rd I actually planned on trying the epi but I wanted to wait as long as I could stand the pain and I. Made it to 8 cm without the contractions really hurting too bad.. after that I was a mess because of the pain cause they told me I couldn't have the epi! I delivered her and was walking around within 2 hrs! Her birth was amazing because I remembered everything and could bf right away!
That's great. Ya that's one of the reasons I want to do it natural besides the whole experience I don't want to b all doped up whn my baby is born n there's no way I'm letting thm jam a needle in my spine
@jazzi89 I don't think u will want iv meds either! They really do make u very dopey and personally I think it made the birth worse. Not to mention it didn't even help AT ALL! All it did was make me pass out for the 1 min btwn contractions! Lol
Hmm I wouldn't mind trying that. Daddy has a really weak stomach though so I don't even kno how he's goin to handle the birth. He used to puke whn getting potty trained! Lol
