how many 1st babies come early?

Does anyone know the percentage of how many babies come early if they are the 1st one for the momma? I'm concerned cuz I want to visit family 6 hours away but dr doesn't advise traveling in the last month. I'm 36 weeks and no complications. I like to base my life of % stats ;)

    Idk the % but all my family n friends their first child was between two n three weeks early. I was four and a half weeks when I came into the world myself my mom was so upset she said she wasn't ready to not be prego anymore...

    Just had my first and he was early I was due May 4th and he came April 29th by emergency c-section. I was in labore for 3 1/2 days... Have you had your cervix checked yet? If there's no dialation and if your not effaced I would go. But that's just me..

    Wow cuz ill be exactly 37 weeks when I'm there. I have a checkup this week for my cervix and if I'm not dialated I will go. I just don't even think the baby has dropped yet I still can't eat regular sized meals and its hard to breath. They don't just drop and wanna come out in a day do they? Ha I'm so clueless.

    my first baby was one week over due before I gave birth...longest week of my life lol

    I don't know the percent either but I had my first son 2 weeks early. Everyone is different though. It will happen whenever your body is ready.

    This is my first. I asked my doc at my last appointment when we will discuss induction. She giggled and said "unless there's a medical emergency we won't". She said they expect first time moms go over. So, now I'm bracing myself for the possibility of an October baby.

    I'm due mid sept. So I should start preparing for a potential August or October baby? lol

    My first was born on her due date.. my second was born two weeks late had to be induced.. so I dunno, kinda just depends I guess

    I just did some research and found out that's its %10 of 1st babies are born early. So we got a number! Lol but from ur ladies responses I see that its about half n half

    @newflmom2b thats so funny I was the exact opposite! I was due April 29th and didnt come until May 4th!

I conceived my twins purely through having the hyper ovulation gene passed to me from my mother.

    @Deni_b thank u sooo much for that link! It has a lot of awesome facts and its good to know that 1 in 8 babies are born early so that helps answer my original question :)

    Its scary to see that c sections have gone up by 50% in the last decade tho =/

    My doctor with/ y first convinced me I would go late...I was due nov 12 and she said plan for a near thanksgiving baby...well my thanksgiving baby was born on october 3...6 weeks early...and they had no clue why!

    Ps...im due nov 11 this time, and my doctor has assured me I wont go early Haha I've been on bed rest for two weeks and im only 18weeks along so im sure baby will go early!

    My baby dropped on Friday n I'm not due till July 31st is it possible that I can have him early I'm only 33 weeks???,

    I'm on my first baby, and I'm now 4 days past my EDD with no end in sight...I thought most firsts went over but what do I know.
    I was 15 days late, my sister was 14 days late, and my cousin was 20 days late.
    Maybe its just in my family. :(

    Both of my first 2 were late.
    Daughter was 42 weeks
    Son was a few days late I asked dr to induce b4 he got too much later... Dont know what will happen this time...
