constipation!!!!

Im 17wks 4dys and haven't been able to go in the last three days....it is so painful....idk if I should tell dr or go to er????? On the other hand praying I can find out the sex of my baby today wish me luck!!!!!!!"

  • Yea I try eating fruit but I have an ulcer so I cant eat or drink anything with acid....which sucks haven't had an coke in almost 3 months....thanks
  • Eat cauliflower its a natural laxative, its helped me.
  • Girl I'm with you. Last night I ate a fiber bar and I still can't poop. Got so upset about it yesterday I almost cried.

    More water. Less junk.

    Peanutbutter has some fiber. On whole grain toast it might have a good amount. Dont know if crunchy or creamy has more. Or the same.

    I think spinach and broccoli have lots. And spinach is rich iron. Maybe vegetable lasagna is a good idea.

    If I think of anything else that might help, ill share.
  • There's a stool softener called Senokot, its vegetable based that my OB told me is the only safe one to take during pregnancy, plus its no chemicals, your body can't get dependent on it, its basically doing what a huge salad, prune juice, olives, fiber would do for you but in pill form. No cramping, no diarrhea, no side effects. I have taken it& I personally find it the best choice. Good luck!
  • just tell your dr today,its very common in pregnancy.i had the same problem a few days ago. my dr said i could use milk of magnesia and colace stool softener,you can buy both over the counter. i also ate some broccoli,cauliflower,and carrots mixed veggies and it was only about 30 minutes after i was able to go. good luck.
  • Sometimes coffee is the morning will make me poo (ok, every time I drink it it makes me poo lol) worth a try? :)

  • Yeah, I swear by prunes, they are so delicious. But I haven't had any in a while, which is why I can't poop right now. I get like 2 or 3 rabbit tirds everyonce in a while, but golly, that doesn't do the job!
  • my grandmother says a chocolate milkshake will fix it! it didn't work for me but its worth a try!
  • With my 1st baby I had the same problem I took these fiber chewable pills every day twice a day they are huge but they helped & ask yur doctor about COLACE it's a stool softener that also helps!
  • I hate it. -.- To make it worse the only thing I really crave is extra cheesy velveeta macaroni and cheese.
  • I know! I crave cheesy beans like crazy. cheese is so bad for constipation...
  • I also take colace and drink lots of water. I ws constipated before I was pregnant and now it is worse so I am hoping the colsce helps.
  • Take a stool softener and lots a of water! Just no real laxitives..helped me so much I took it before bed and early afternoon the next day.i was.mu,h better!
