what is stripping your membranes and does it hurt ?

    When they check ur cervix they take there fingers and scrap around it its supposed to.help speed things a lot, I thought it hurt but.i started having contractions in the middle of it

    It didn't hurt me.. But, everyone is different.

    It's optional ... What it does the doctor presses hard along the cervix wall and the end of your cervix where they meet. He's tying to disconnect them to allow the dialation process to begin. Think of it as a medal custird mold that is sticking after cooking and you need to stick something along the sides to unstick it.

    Sometimes it hurts and it may also cause bleeding as well.

    It hurt me but i think it all depends on the person and doctor 2, 1st time i had one it didnt hurt but 2nd hurt and i had my show straight after so dont think the 1st worked??? I wouldnt worry about it though because its over and done with before u know it and it and i would def have it done again but im having a c-sec so wont need 1

    It didn't hurt for me but it wasn't comfortable either. It also didn't do anything for me; I had to be induced a week later.

    It hurt while she was doing it, but it worked! My water broke that night. I'm begging doc Wednesday
