Registry...going insane!!

edited February 2011 in Pregnant
Im having a hard time picking a car seat and stroller. I read a lot of reviews before I ever purchase anything, so I keep seeing conflicting reviews with these two items. Im looking for a stroller that is light weight (this rules out those travel systems) and is for tall people. Im 5'9 and hubby is 6'1 and it seems like many strollers we have to struggle to reach the handles. The car seat I would also like to be lighter so I can lift it myself. Anyone have any suggestions?

  • I'm not sure about a stroller for taller people, I'm only 5'3. The travel systems worked out great for us. I got a graco snugride car seat w matchn stroller. The stroller was easy 1 handed to open n close. We took our car seat to the local police station n they installed it for us (bonus..for free). If u use the carseat properly u shouldn't have any problems, just find a nice pattern u like!
  • I tried lifting the graco travel stroller and I thought it was heavy. I will try again, who knows maybe I was having a "weak" pregnant day :)
  • @newmommy17 don't try and lift it while its open! Fold it down and then 2 hand pic it up as if u were to put it in the trunk of ur car. I took any thing a lil heavy or bulky as a added in work out. Lol! Also check into ur police station or fire dept to see if then can put the car seat base in ur car. It was li
  • Sorry this touch screen! But haven the pd put my carseat base in was like having extra reassurance all the time I. Traveled
  • thanks for your help!!
  • I got the city mini..extremely light weight folds with one hand and u can buy the universal attachment to put whatever carseat u select..I also went with the grace snuggle ride but weight was not a concern there bc its going frm the car to the stroller so won't be carrying that too far. FYI the city mini is a bit pricey but once you see how unique it is I think u will make the investment..good luck!
  • @ohboylifeischanging i just pulled it up on babies r us, the jogging one?
  • Yes..It looks like a jogger..but I was told when I brought mine its not considered a jogger..
  • They also have a website and they demo the stroller on their actual website..and show u all the accessories u can buy
  • looks good, i love how you can get the attachment and instead of having to get one of those heavy, bulky strollers!! i added it to my list of strollers. Online it says not available in stores, so im hoping i can try it out somewhere first before buying
  • I totally agree with u..I really dislike travel systems bc they are heavy and bulky..this stroller is sturdy like a fully size stroller and light weight like an umbrella stroller..I have seen it in the babies r us store ...but I tested the sample and brought mine from buy buy baby..
