Not really feeling any more at the.moment. I will keep updating though for the next 48 hours.since that is.the time frame in which the cake.supposedly kicks in. XD
Adding pudding mix dry makes cake moist I do it all the time and even to my choc chip cookies lol. I think the sour cream prob makes it super moist tho. Goodluck with the labor! I hope it works
Thanks ladies! I will continue to keep.everyone posted until.the 48 hours are up!
UPDATE: I'm about to.get some sleep. Contractions are random.in.strength and timing so its obvious (if the cake works) that's its too soon for.the cake to kick in. If anything wakes.me up tonight ill update again, otherwise this is it until my son wakes me up in the morning!
@cee808 Yeah it was.so.heavy and moist that it.was.falling apart as we tried to cut and.serve it! And thanks, I'll only.be a little disappointed if it fails!
@blissmarie23 Thanks, I've never had castor oil but I'm sure this beats the flavor for sure! @mommy2be333 Awesome, I hope it works for you!
As a side note as I fade away for the night, the contractions might be all Willy nilly but my back is uncomfortable...right now I'm too tired to care though.:P Goodnight Preglies!
Good Morning Preglies! Time for an update! (This one is a little TMI for the sake of being thorough...)
My sweet little man let me sleep in this morning! How fortunate! I'll consider it a coincidence seeing that he stayed up a little late at Nana's last night. When I went to bed last night, I didn't have any more contractions, but I had the worst night sweat I've ever had!!! I was completely SOAKED!!! I'm wondering if that was a coincidence, though. Anyway, I wake up this morning and no contractions so far, but I really, REALLY had to go to the bathroom, and when I did (TMI) it was a lot softer than usual. A LOT. But not enough to be considered diarrhea. I add this since one of the early labor symptoms can be loose stools, so just in case...but it could just be because of the ingredients of last night's cake. I'm debating on whether or not I want some breakfast because part of me really doesn't feel like eating right now, but when I don't I usually start seeing spots and I don't want to do that for the millionth time. So I suppose I'm off to rummage for food. Think I'll steal the piece of cake my husband had me bring home for him last night - I left my phone charger at my mom's and have to go retrieve it today, so I can always get him more cake.
P.S. Happy Birthday to me! I'm one year away from discounted car insurance! :-)) LoL.
Good luck and hope it works for you!! Sounds much more delicious than the other labor inducers.
And happy birthday My discounted insurance is the only good thing about my bday this year. Mine always seems forgotten about being the week of July 4th!
@mmomma1013 Thank you! I'm not going to be overly disappointed if it doesn't work but it sounded like an experiment worthy of trying out. Besides, it makes one hell of a birthday cake. And LoL, so then you're a year ahead of me! Happy early Birthday!
@viviya Hey kill too birds with one stone! All the chocolate in the cake makes me want chocolate chip pancakes! Your Lo will come when its ready! What a great birthday present! (Ours will be an anniversary present). Keep me posted how it goes!
@mmomma1013 Will do! It would be cool to have him today for my birthday, but I have a feeling that it isn't time yet. Still, at least I can document what happens when you eat this super crazy cake so the other Preglies can determine if they want to give it a shot or not!
ANOTHER UPDATE: Just went into the fridge and attacked the piece of labor cake my husband had me bring home for him last night. Couldn't eat the whole thing (again) since it was another decently sized chunk, but I ate most of it and washed it down with some milk as I did. As a note for anyone else who tries this, it was a lot easier to eat more cake being hungry for breakfast than it was being nibbly after dinner. I don't feel nauseous from eating it this time, though I do feel stuffed and I probably would feel sick if I'd kept eating. Plus, it's tastier after being refrigerated (I wonder if that has anything to do with the pudding mix?). So now we'll see if 2 pieces in 12 hours causes anything or not! :O I'll keep everyone posted if I start feeling anything!
@casnleslie Thank you! It is delicious - but it's not really doing anything. xP Granted, it can take up to 48 hours according to the recipe, but I'm already getting the impression that this theory is a bust. It was fun to try though!
This sounds just like a cake I make and get so many rave reviews on. The only difference is I make it in a bundt pan and it doesn't over flow. It does take a bit longer in the bundt though. I also drizzle raspberry preserves, chocolate chips, and sometimes walnuts. Now that I know its also a labor cake I might be making it more often. Hehe.
