Going to college after the little one is born?

Anyone else plan on doing this? What are you gonna go for?

I'm thinking about doing night classes at a community college for either medical billing and coding or to be an LPN (nurse). I'm probably gonna go for the summer enrollment that way my daughter is about 6 or 7 months old when it's time.

    I am already in school to get my RN. I have to take the fall semester off because I'm due in September but ill be going back in January to finish my degree.

    Me!!! I quit teaching to become a stay at home mommy for Alivia. Once she's about 9 months I'm planning on going back to get my masters. I'm just undecided on what though.

    i was just researching for college after little one is born. I planned on going back when i turned 25 which is in 2 years. So Caleb would be a toddler, but now i think i want to go back sooner than that. The only problem is, I want to go for vet tech but the closest school is 2.5 hours away from me. so now i have to look into online courses and finding a vet that will let me do internship for school. i guess i better start doing the research so that i can get to school as soon as im ready after little Caleb is here.

    Hi ladies I have a question to ask u yall can u go straight to get to RN's or do u have to get the cna then lpn and then to rn plz help cause I won't to get my cna

    @tierrajackson19 I live in Rhode Island and here you can go straight for RN I had to take some prerequisite courses like human anatomy. Then I had to apply to the nursing program and it is pretty competitive here

    @Chelsea_firstbaby How is the semesters broken up? I've tried to look it up, but I didn't find much of anything.

    @PrayingForMiracles Would you say being an LPN is a pretty decent job? My mom is an LPN. She works at an optomologist (sp?) and likes it for the most part, but I'd rather work in a hospital over working at a specialist.

    @firsttimemama I was thinking about doing the whole online school thing, but I think I'd do better in an actual classroom. If I did them online, I'd more than likely get distracted and NEVER get anything done. Lol. But, when I was looking into online schools, I found one called Florida Tech, and they have a pretty decent setup.

    @katiep8610 you can work from home? I always thought you had to be in the office/hospital to do it.

    @BabyMcBride8_27 At my school the fall semester usually starts the last week of August and goes until December. The spring semester starts late January and ends in May and then they do offer summer classes

    @BabyMcBride8_27 im not into the whole online class thing either for the same reason!! what im hoping for is to take as many classes as i can take at the local community college (which happens to be part of the college that is 2.5 hrs away) and the classes that my local community doesnt have for the the vet tech program i would just do online. im hoping thats what i'll be able to do. either that or by the time i will go back to school im hoping the community college branch where i live will have a vet tech program.

    @tierrajackson19 I would check with whatever school you are going to apply to but I don't think you need get your cna first. My cousin lives in Florida and she is just going for her RN

    My friends mom always picks up the tapes, translates them at home and then drops them off on Fridays. I'm going to go work for her when I'm done w school.

    I'm goin n2 my 4th year n I will strt bck up n august wen the semester starts I transfered to a community college and lowering my course loss to jus 2 or 3classes nstead of 5or6

    I plan on going back I'm due In august and would like to start in Jan. To get my degree in criminal justice to become a probation officer. I looked into a medical billing coding specialist and its actually quite hard that's why there is such a big market for it not a lot of people can pass the course at the end and of you do they say the job is very boring and requires very long hours.

    I had my son during spring term of my junior year in undergrad, i turned around and took a full summer time then too and ended up dropping out because i had a case of the baby blues (postpartum), however I went back fall term and graduated with my four year Bachelors degree on time, it is possible to become overwhelmed but you can definitely do it. I work full time now and was in school full time with this current pregnancy and made it to the spring term and just stop going got NPs all the way down. I just couldnt do it this time. And plus online classes are not my friend so if you are anything like me being in a class is best because it gives you the opportunity to focus better than being at home.

    I really want to go back to school after baby is born. I'm still unsure of what I want to do. I just don't want my AA to go to waste since I worked hard for it. There are a few universities around here to choose from and there is an online school I'm considering too (I took some online classes through my school so I know I can do it if I choose to go that route). Choices, choices. . . .

    I'm pretty much pressured to go back. I've already taken a year off and now that I'm having a baby, I'm going to take another year, maybe two, off to raise him. Honestly, I feel that being there for my son is more important than anything. I'm thinking of either studying to be a midwife or being a body piercer's apprentice. The apprenticeship requires no college, but being a midwife does! I love the idea of both professions. My husband thinks I should do both ;)

    I'm in school I due in November but I going to stay on school and hopefully my teachers will work with me so I can be off to have my baby and come back after baby is born I graduate in may with my criminal justice degree!!!

    I was going to begin school in August, for Dental Assisting; then, I found out about the baby...what a shock that was!! Now, instead of starting school in August of this year, I will be waiting until NEXT August for Dental Assisting --- until then, I'm enrolled in online classes for Medical Billing (:

    I plan on going back and finish my RN degree in January. I'm due in August so I had to take time off due to pregnancy complications.

    Ugh it was hard and very stressful for me to finish without having a baby, I cannot imagine doing it while having a baby...power to you for doing it though!
