Ok well I have gained so much weight during my pregnancy... I have gestational diabetes...iv gaind 40pounds n if I gain more weight ill have to have a c section n I really dnt want one.. what can I do to lose weight bt still have a healthy baby?
Just try exercise like walking. And cut your sugar out, no soda, read juice labels, I'd try to stick with water. Get healthy snacks to eat between meals (fruit (which is a healthy sugar that usually balances the bad sugar out a bit), nuts (peanuts are high fat but studies show its not s kind you gain weight on. Get a cereal for breakfast with skim milk or something whole grain (fiber makes you feel full longer) if you eat eggs eat whites only. For lunches shrinking portions is to difficult for a pregnant woman appetite so try getting chicken breast (bake with seasoning) you can do the breast and Veggie or fruit, you can chunk it out in a salad. Pork is a meat you want to avoid. Beef isn't bad, high protein just try to get 80/20 but there aren't many healthy options as chicken. The steamer lunches you can get aren't to bad. But I hope this gives you some ideas.
Count ur calories. Depending on how tall u are and how much u weigh u only need a certain amount of calorie intake.. while pregnant if u r not overweight u only need 300 more calories a day , which is not a lot! I would say no more than 2000 calories per day, then add exercise like walking or water aerobics! Oh and NO SODA OR SUGAR DRINKS! Only water milk and healthy juice (no concentration )

First of all hun, weight gain has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with having a c-section. Do NOT let your doctor tell you that. I gained 80lbs with my first, and had her all natural, uncomplicated delivery. Like I said weight gain has NOTHING to do with your ability to have a vaginal delivery. That being said, if you want to maintain your weight, cut out as much sugar as you can. No pop, no candy, no desserts, etc. Then eat six small meals a day instead of 3 large meals. Make them healthy. If you eat eggs for breakfast, add some peppers and carrots to your egg, even tomatoes. It makes it healthier and tastes really good! When you snack, snack on veggies without dip! Get as many things sugar free as you can and fat free. Don't cut out too many calories though, you still need to be eating at least 2000 to 2500 calories a day to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Also go on walks! And swimming! 2 great ways to stay active! good luck!
Don't they have you on a special diet for the GD? Usually when they put you on that diet, low carb, high protein and high fiber, you end up losing weight. Has your docotr had you talk to a nutrionist? If not I would ask them to refer you to one for the GD and that will help/
my cousin has GD and her doctor told her to eat smart ones and lean cuisines and weight watchers quick dinners and she lost a ton of weight real quick and the baby gained weight like there was no tomorrow she eats one every 3-4 hours they are sooo good
