how will I no when labour kicks in

Hi guys im due on the 1st march with my 1st child. Im getting veri nervous now. How wil I no when I go into active labour?? What are the signs. For the past night I have had crippling back ache and been getting cramp like pains in my belly is this a sign?

    It will feel like really bad cramps ( contractions ) ur mucus plug will prob break n ur discharge will look like " snot " those r some signs but every pregnancy is different. U prob will also feel a whole lot of pressure on ur vagina

    It may be early labor, I had contractions for 3 days before I had my daughter, the 3rd day they got extremely strong, you can't mistake them for anything else. You will definately know when you are in active labor, just remember to hold out as long as possible because the hospital will send you home if the contractions aren't close enough together. Unless your water breaks, then go in right away. Good luck to you and congrats...

    I did worry and everyone said "dont worry, you just know" well I went in cause I thought I had urine infection and they were gonna send me home until they examined me at 11.30ish. My little girl arrived at 11.45. I knew I was in pain but I wasn't 100% sure lol. Trust your body though

    This ismy 2nd but I was induced w my 1st so I'm glad u asked the question! Good luck and yay for the new lil baby (well hopefully here soon!)

    I was about 6 cm dialated and had no idea. Thank goodness I had a doc appt that day. After they broke my water I could feel it.

    See thats what im scared of not noing and then giving birth at home or something the cramp like pains seem to be getting a bit worse but no sign of my waters breaking yet
