Blood test done during your second trimester

edited June 2011 in Second Trimester
How much is it usually when you have to get your blood work done during your second trimester and you have insurance? When I go to my OB/GYN my insurance covers me 100% and they are sending me to this place called Quest Diagnostics and I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be charged anything or not.

  • i dont get charged anything
  • If you don't have a copay you don't pay..
  • I didn't have to pay.my ob did the blood work.
  • @firsttimer I had to pay a copay for the first visit but nothing else afterwards for the rest of my appointments!
How extreme are these blood test?
  • @Chels31388 more than likely you've met your deductible then..but the blood test is normal they fill up about 4 large tubs and a few small ones..painless and quick..but just to lest you know I've never seen anyone pay at those places..I believe they are contracted with the Dr office..but it wouldn't hurt to call.
  • If you've met your deductible it shouldn't cost anything. Just make sure that your insurance takes Quest and not another place (we have Quest and LabCorp where I live) or else you'll be responsible for the bill, and it's your responsibility to know which one your insurance takes, although most dr's won't tell you to go to the wrong place. I received the bill in the mail from Quest for the first set of bloodwork in the first trimester because my medicaid app hadn't been approved yet, and it was $2500-3000 can't remember the exact cost but it was outrageous.
