What are some of the best inexpensive places to go maternity clothes shopping?

  • @andreas1stbaby Target is pretty good, they have a nice section and of course thrift stores there is always a lot there and since you are gonna change in size so much it helps me to buy a lot there. I also bought a belly band, all that is, is a strip of spandex like fabric that I put over the waist band of my pants so that I can leave them unzipped and unbuttoned (it isn't tight it just covers it so you can't tell and it keeps it snug) which helped me save my pants for sooo much longer. I'm really little so I showed quick and I was so scared I would be buying a new wardrobe like once a week and that helps with the pants issue at least for now lol
  • @AKmommy thank youu(: I was going to buy a belly band soon. I'm not far along and I'm not showing or anything just bloated and can't handle tighter pants like I used to before I was pregnant I just need loose and comfy haha
  • LOL @ andrea1stbaby I know how you feel. I'm little so I bloated up quick and now my pants don't even come close to zipping or buttoning so this makes my pants feel relaxed. I never knew how freeing it is to have your pants unzipped and unbuttond all the time, hahaha, I might just keep this thing for after just so when I want to breath more no one will be the wiser :)
  • @AKmommy I've been doing the rubber band around the button thing but I just need more comfy clothes and I'm first time mommy so I don't know the best places
  • @andrea1stbaby, I'm first time too and I only have been finding out these wonderful things recently since my best friend had a baby just december so she's been passing along tips, like the pregnancy pillow, it looks freaking amazing, google it as soon as I get my tax refund I will be getting one of these, they look like you're sleeping on a cloud lol, when are you due??
  • @AKmommy I want one of those pillows but didn't know if they are worth the money. I'm due oct.6 when are you due
  • @ Andrea1stbaby August 12th, wish it was sooner, I'm too impatient for all of this haha, and my best friend has one and she still uses it. She uses it to prop the baby up when she feeds him and her husband steals it from her all the time. They can be a little pricey but I'm willing since I have such trouble sleeping on my side, I'm a back sleeper and I only have a couple weeks til I have to stop sleeping that way
  • Oldnavy.com has a 30% off sale on maternity clothes. Shirts are $10, gouchos $10.50, and khakis I think were $15ish.
  • I went maternity clothes shopping for the first time ever yesterday. I am 14w5d and I started showing ALL OF A SUDDEN!! I was able to use my previous clothes up until a few days ago but now everything is tight.

I find that, although I have never been a dresses girl, they seem to be so much more comfy. I went to Ross (we have lots of those in Miami) and found some for $9.99 and they fit beautifully!! Appropriate for work or casual if you know how to accessorize.

I also read on another post here that you can find really inexpensive shirts and pants at Burlington (3$ pants).

Good luck shopping and please keep us posted on what you find :)
  • Burlington is the best
  • Im just going to buy larger clothes as i cant afford maternity wear, i think this summer ill be living in maxi dresses and leggings! Hehe
  • I am not far along either but my pants didn't fit. I went to kohls, there were more expensive but I had30% off so they weren't that bad. I live in Mn so won't be wearing dresses anytime soon lol. I got some maternity pants, they are really comfy.
  • Jc penneys has a sale according to the sunday fliers
  • Burlington coat factory has tons of stuff but I noticed they r kinda big if ur still small but when ur bigger go there hella cheap!!!! And the Ross here in north ca has small and I mean small as well as fairly large maternity stuff pretty cheap and pretty cute... old navy for me is still pricey cuz I don't make a lot of money.... other than that maxi dresses from normal sizes and leggings normal sizes work well and can be cheaper
  • Ive been wearing pj pants and sweats the last two months. Lol. I havent worn jeans in weeks. I should probably buy some maternity clothes but I love having an excuse to be comfy all day :)
