question: baby measuring big, mean baby arriving early?

edited July 2011 in Pregnant
I'm 31 weeks but my baby is measuring 33 weeks. If your baby measured big, did they come before your actual due date? Just curious to see what happened with other babies who measured big.

  • that happened to me. my son was fully developed and big, they said if i wait to 40 weeks he would b too big for my pelvic size and they would have to do a c section, so they induced and i had him at 37 1/2 weeks. he was born w 9lbs 7oz measuring 50cm
  • I measured about 2 weeks ahead too, until I reached about 37 weeks, then I measured normally, I think my baby girl grew fast and then slowed down near the end, she was born 4 days before her due date @ 8lbs 12.4oz....but I had my membranes striped 2 days before, I think thats why I went into labor
  • I wish my son has been measuring two weeks ahead for.the longest
  • Im measuring really big for my dd too. Im hoping they induce r take my baby early. Im really petite and im hoping I dont have to push out a 10lb baby on my own. Oh and there's a slight chance for a twin birth.
  • I measured 4 weeks ahead with my little one up until 34 weeks... and finally she leveled out some.. they kept my original due date and said sometimes it can be extra fluid... or the baby's growth may slow down. I had my hopes up she would be here early.. :( yet here I am at 37 weeks! Just don't get your hopes up too much!
  • Nope... The size could mean baby is healthy enough and you'll probably go past your due date.
  • My baby was measuring 3 weeks ahead and then u/s was 1 week ahead and I started dilating at 38w 6d and was induced then and it was to 3cm (lots of sex) and then at 39w 0d I delivered c sec.
