BAD news at my 37 week appointment **UPDATE**

So after dialating and effacing and making progress I go to my appointment today with high hopes... my doctor even said.. if u have made a little more progress we will go ahead and schedle an induction for 39 weeks! So I'm all excited... only to find out the baby came loose from my pelvis and is now TRANSVERSE in the wrong position! He said Tuesday they will do an ultrasound and if she still hasn't turned that he will admit me and try and turn her and induce me. Doesn't this increase my risk for a C section??? Anyone else have a baby in wrong position??? He didn't seem to positive about her turning on her own. Please help!

UPDATE~~~ So yesterday I took it easy and was extremely depressed and laid on my left side all night last night.. Well I woke up this morning, to feel a large hard (baby body part) Under my Right Breast, (but more to the right... I'm also feeling HARD kicks down towards my cervix & bottom area.... I'm thinking the the hard round part under my boob, is the baby's head. :( it feels like she has moved MORE towards the top of me. But I guess in better news, if she could move from transverse, to a near breech position, then she must have enough room in there to move BACK HEAD DOWN.. right???? This is going to drive me CRAZY!

  • My little girl is breech I'm 35 weeks so hopefully she'll flip. Good luck. My dr won't try to turn her if she stays breech strait to csection. Punks
  • Yea.. Id di some internet reaserch to see if theres anything u can do to turn baby.. If I were u I would just wait n see if baby turns.. After dr tryed the turning tech.. Id wait.. I went to 42 wks w/ both boys cause I diddnt want to do anything to raise risks .. I was miserable but it was worth the outcome.. Good luck

  • :( I'm sorry deary. I hope everything works out.
  • I'm really upset... I had made good progress.. Even when he walked in, he said.. okay let's talk about an induction date.. what date would you like? what's good for you all? Then he checks me to find that she floated up.. How does that even happen!!! Argh! He seemed like nothing would help her move back down, and he expected her to still be in transverse position on tuesday. I just wanted a future date so my mom could make it here for the birth. :( He scared me too, he said if my water breaks that the umbilical cord could prelapse and it could hurt her. I'm so scared!

  • Go to the chiropractor hun!!! That's the only thing that worked for me, I swear by it!
  • It just sucks so bad... I guess I can't complain, because I might get to have her Tuesday... I'm just SO frustrated with her! lol.. poor baby. We had made good progress and now were going backwards..
  • My baby is breeched and I didnt wanna try to turn him. So my c section is scheduled for nex wk.
  • I'm just done... if they wanna turn her its fine.. I'm too depressed and over it. Just want to be finished. I hope I don't have to have a c section.
  • Have a look at WWW.spinningbabies.com that is full of suggestions to help turn baby.
  • @robinlinlee83 sorry hun hopefully she'll turn back down for u.
  • I got told to sit on a gym ball, try that hun. Hope she turns!

  • I will check out the website... from what I'm reading its worse to have a transverse baby because it increases risk of c section... in some cases u can still vaginally deliver a breech baby... just sucks to be 37 weeks and be making backwards progress!
  • :( I thought mine would stay transverse, but so far she is head down. I read about turning, it kinda scares me. For one its really painful for the mom...you have to be AT the hospital because you can end up with C Section....I also read it may not work or the cord could be an issue. I would opt for a Csection if it had happened to me (or if it does).
  • My son was breech. I went into labor at 38 weeks and had him via csection. My doc said trying to turn the baby is extreamly dangerous.
  • Oh no.... that. Makes me even more scared ... I didn't think I could go into labor with her not being head down... is it still possible???

  • Try yoga positions :) they help in positioning your baby!
  • Hey now don't get worked up love! She still has time to move. I swear sometimes docs try rushing these things n it don't help! I wish u good luck and I feel sorry for u cause most girls wait until there about 13 to start causing problems! Ur gonna have ur hands full! Lol
  • Thank you all so much... I'm just so nervous now I hope labor doesn't start... I would feel much safer being in the hospital. I didn't think if she was sideways that labor would start without pressure on the cervix. @homebirthadvocate. Thank u for all your encouring words... 1 more question... will it be possible if I would know if she turned the right way? (Or more the wrong way).

  • Okay..that does help. The doctor was really kind to point out exactly where all her body parts were. So hopefully I will be able to recognize if her kicks change. I just really hope they can successfully turn her... I'm worried the dialation with my cervix and effacement are lost! I don't want to be back at zero. That would make induction so much longer.

  • Thanks.. I was confused when I asked him about my dilation now and he said it was nothing as compared to last week. Because baby wasn't head down anymore
