  • Its not that bad you get an epidural or a spinal block to numb your belly the process id say is about 30 mins. I barelt remember it I only remember seeing my son and then I got more drugs because I "thought" I was feeling pain but it was just pressure. Then I woke up ina recovery room. The tough part about it is recovering from it. Take it easy when you go home get up and walk but not too much. Mine was healed 2 weeks later. Hope I helped. And you will more than likely get pain meds take em on time so you wonnt have to wait for the pain to go away. Good luck hope I helped.
  • Thankful maymommy11 im quite nervous to be honest, can I ask you if its true that they strap your arms down?
  • I was wide awake and remember everything. You can feel then tugging on your belly. The doc will talk you thru it and tell you exactly what he is doing each step of the way. The only bad part for me was they gave me a big bag of pitocin at the end to contract my uterus. The pitocin made me short of breath an anxious. I was freaking out and couldn't breath. They had to give me versed to calm me down. The spinal block was not bad but I've never been afraid of needles.
  • They usually strap the arm down with the iv.. But i remember my other arm being out.. You go in.. Get an iv..monitor baby Answer questions sign paperwork.. Walk to operating room.. Get on bed.. Get epidural or spinal.. They put a blue sheet up so you cant see and to keep everything sterile..after 20 mins your baby is out.. They suction and what not.. Dad holds baby brings the baby over to you while they sew u up..you go recovery.. Then go to your post partum room..
  • Thanks ladies appreciate the help even though I still feel nervous but I doubt ill be able to relax but it will be worth it
  • I had an emergency c section three weeks ago! I was so nervous as soon as i found out i needed one but it was nothin! I had a spinal and the whole thing from start to end prob took 50mins i cldnt feel a thing and nearly fell asleep! The worst part for me was renoving my dressing the next day i was so nervous! But all was fine! I was up walking around 12hrs after and i didnt need any pain relief after the first day! Now im walking, cleaning the house and finding everyday very easy to be honest! It doesnt matter wat anyone says u will still feel nervous but just think its so worth it in the end!! Good luck:-)
  • I dont remember all that much but my fiance said I kept moving my arms down so he was holding my arms on the board or something. He said his arms burned from holding it the whole time, I had an iv in my arm too. I didnt see my son till 24 hours after because we were both on magnesuim for preeclampsia so he needed oxygen because it wasnt where it was supposed to be. Untill I was off the mag I couldnt be alone in my room with him. All they did is brough him over and I kissed his eye in the OR.
